President Trump's 'Team of Vipers,' DOD Launches Priceline, and more interesting stuff for January 27, 2019

Nancy Pelosi Charges Air Force Nearly $200,000 for Flights to Ukraine and Italy
A FactCheck site claimed this to be false. But, this has detailed information from documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act.
Which do you believe?
Pelosi’s trip to Italy and Ukraine from July 30 to Aug. 6, 2015, cost the Air Force $184,587.81, according to documents released Saturday under a 2015 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit by Judicial Watch. Her delegation was made up of other Democratic members of Congress, including California Rep. Anna Eshoo, after “token” Republican Wisconsin Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner pulled out last minute, reported The Washington Post in 2015.
Four family members, including Pelosi’s husband Paul Pelosi, were slated to go on the trip. The delegation was scheduled to dine at restaurants including James Beard American Restaurant in Milan, where a five-course meal cost up to $190, according to Fine Dining Lovers. The lawmakers also toured the Vatican and met up with Italian dignitaries, including President Sergio Mattarella and then-Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, according to their itinerary.
Pelosi’s team apparently had some pretty specific requests for the Air Force officials working with them to coordinate the trip.
You’re going lo love this …. CODEL Pelosi is requesting the crew they had on this earlier attached trip. Apparently they were very pleased with their service. I already told the escort chances were slim,” an unidentified Air Force official wrote in an email July 9, 2015.
Overall, Pelosi’s European excursion cost the Air Force about the same amount of money it would take to send a student to Harvard University for four years. Judicial Watch compared the trip to Republican Colorado Sen. Cory Gardner’s CODEL trip with multiple stops in east Asia in August 2015. The trip led by Gardner, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, cost at least $26,009.03 for commercial flights and per diems, according to records cited by Judicial Watch.

Shutdown Stall? White House Announces 51 Judge Nominations Thrilling Base
He keeps on cranking them out in an effort that will change the federal judiciary for decades to come. 2 of the nominations are for the Leftist 9th District Court of Appeals.
Yesterday, the administration announced the re-nomination of 51 federal judges, who were left over from the previous congressional body, and because of new rules in the Senate, it looks like there will be no obstructions to their placement.
Nine of the 51 appointments are for spots on prestigious and influential federal appellate benches, including two on the mostly liberal San Francisco-based 9th Circuit Court of Appeals,” Fox News reported.

Senator Graham Stakes Out Priorities for Senate Judiciary Committee
I and my fellow Conservatives/Constitutionalists are going to love them! Things we’ve wanted for 10 years.
Confirm more judges
Investigate the DOJ and FBI handling of Russian collusion
Investigate Hillary Clinton’s email messages
Use of FISA to surveil political candidates
And to investigate possible criminal conduct in the confirmation of Associate Justice Kavanaugh
Should be interesting to see which hearings the media covers. The House or Senate? Care to bet?

Trump’s ‘Team Of Vipers’ Exposed:
Another “insider’s exposé” about the Trump administration. At least this one’s not anonymous!
We’ve all heard comments about ex-Chief of Staff Kelley but I was astonished to read his claim that KellyAnn Conway is one of them. That really bowls me over.
I support President Trump with all my heart but I am beginning to wonder is some of his staff selections were less than shining. At the same time, I wonder if he didn’t know exactly who he was hiring and what to expect of them.
Keep them until they are no longer of use to him?
He relates Kelley’s first day on the job and his address to those working in the EEOB. Here’s a small part of it:
We believed that the way we served our country was by serving the President. Kelly, on the other hand, seemed to be intimating that those two goals might be at odds, perhaps even mutually exclusive at times.
And you know what? Maybe they would be. But if they ever were, the honorable response would be to resign. Maybe we were being paranoid after being in the Trump bunker for so long, but Kelly seemed to be saying that, in such a scenario, it might be necessary to subvert the President’s wishes in service of some amorphous higher calling.
Most of us had met his arrival with optimism after enduring six months of staff upheaval. Now I was watching some of the President’s most ardent supporters shuffling back to their offices, hanging their heads in concern.
What a letdown,” one of them said. “He comes across like he doesn’t even like the President, much less want to work for him.”

Border Patrol and TSA to go to Private Companies?
The feds, through the FedBizOpps.gov has solicited a sole source Federal Financial Participation(FPP) contract for a private firm to take over some duties of the Border Patrol starting Mar 4, 2019 through Sept 3, 2019.You can read the offer @ https://www.fbo.gov/index.php?s=opportunity&mode=form&tab=core&id=94475be4b24ac0c01afccec1323b8559&_cview=0
Here’s what this blogger has to say:
I guess the other obvious point here is that government is once again turning to private industry to save the day. lol The Border Patrol is not getting paid, and that could be problematic if you have a caravan coming in that requires a lot of manpower. Or worse, the chances of CBP guys getting bribed could increase as this shutdown continues.
Another area to watch is the TSA. They are having issues with keeping folks in positions because they are not getting paid as well. Yet again, there are calls for private industry to come in and take over so airports do not have to suffer again through either poor government services, or payroll problems that stem from a divided congress and government shutdown.
This does not take over the basic responsibilities of the Border Patrol, only ensure it can do its job during the period of disruption and rebuilding after the shutdown.
And other civilian companies may certainly be called upon to perform other jobs of protecting the border. This blogger will definitely keep us informed when that happens. The DoD Launched A 'Priceline For The Military' With Travel Deals Galore
Sounds too good to be true. A partnership between government and private industry always seems to end up in a mess. Just hope this one is different.
A new online travel booking platform will ensure the "best deals" possible for current and retired members of the U.S. military, as well as Department of Defense civilians.
The Department of Defense partnered with Priceline to create the American Forces Travel website that launched Tuesday.
"It is a unique and unprecedented travel service: a global collection of exceptional deals, assembled in a single place and available only to the United States military community," a press release said. "American Forces Travel was developed to ensure that when authorized members book personal travel, they will have ready access to the best deals that the global travel industry has to offer."
The website will give the DoD's 1.3 million employees access to hotel, flight, car rental and cruise brands. According to the press release, more than a million hotel deals will be available in more than 71,000 destinations around the globe.
Perhaps the biggest selling point, the site will offer privately negotiated deals that will be available only to the military community.
It appears to be a legit deal and might turn out to be an awesome deal.

German Company Plans American Manufacturing Expansion to Avoid Chinese Tariffs
Means more jobs for Americans.
Another win for President Trump!
Every year, Kion sells about 3,000 vehicles in the U.S. and about half of those sold come from China where they are manufactured. Now, because of Trump’s economic nationalist agenda and billion-dollar tariffs on Chinese imports, Kion executives tell the Wall Street Journal they are planning to expand their manufacturing in America to avoid those tariffs in China:

Russia deploys mercenaries to Venezuela
They’ve already got a major airfield just off shore. Now this.
Russia has secretly deployed about 400 elite mercenaries or military contractors to Venezuela, according to Lenta.ru.
They are supposedly replacing Maduro’s personal protection.
When do more arrive to further bolster his dictatorial rule over the country?
Of course, both Russia and China are making loud noises about noninterference by the international community – directed at the USA.

Coincidence? Venezuela Green Lights Russia to Mine Gold, Days Later US Attempts Overthrow
Another absolute bull crap headline. There is no proof – not even a hint – that the USA is doing anything other than through the UN to deal with the situation there. Nothing!
And here’s another pile of excrement:
Venezuela is not a tyrannical autocracy and its crisis is NOT organic; it is a deeply divided and polarized society—which the US is exploiting for special interests.
Where the hell are these people getting their information?

McAfee Founder is Running from US Government
On a boat.
Seems he’s refused to pay taxes since 2009. On Jan 22, 2019. the IRS convened a grand jury in Tennessee to charge him, his wife, and four of his campaign workers with unspecified IRS crimes.
Oh yeah. He’s also running for the US presidency.
Just too funny.

Colleges Can't Keep Up With Computer Science Demand
This shouldn’t surprise anyone. The whole world is now controlled by some kind of computer chip. From the watch you wear to the car you drive, everything has some form of computerization.
The Times noted learning computing skills can be a fast path to employment in fields from agriculture and banking to genomics — and some computer science majors make six-figure salaries straight out of school.
"The demand is unbounded," Don Fussell, chairman of the computer science department at the University of Texas at Austin, told the Times.
For example, the Times reported, at Swarthmore College, officials hold lotteries to select students for computing classes and cap the number of courses that computer science majors may take. The University of Maryland plans this fall to make computing a limited enrollment major, which will make it harder for non-majors to transfer in, the Times reported. And at the University of California, San Diego, introductory lecture courses have ballooned to up to 400 students to accommodate both majors and non-majors.
"When you put any kind of barrier in place in terms of access to computer science majors, it tends to reduce the number of women and students of color in the program," Maria Klawe, president of Harvey Mudd College, a private college in Claremont, California, told the Times. The school has become a national model for diversity in computer science, the Times reported.
Six figures straight out of school? Wow!
And this isn’t just 4 year colleges. Many community colleges and private institutions are turning them out at an amazing rate.
