Pentagon authorizes $1 bn for Trump's border wall
What Congress refuses to do, our great president manages to figure out how.
The Department of Homeland Security asked the Pentagon to build 57 miles (92 kilometers) of 18-foot (5.5-meter) fencing, construct and improve roads, and install lighting to support Trump's emergency declaration.
Shanahan "authorized the commander of the US Army Corps of Engineers to begin planning and executing up to $1 billion in support to the Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Patrol," a Pentagon statement issued late Monday read.
The acting defense secretary cited a federal law that he said gives the Pentagon broad authority to build infrastructure "across international boundaries of the United States in support of counter-narcotic activities of federal law enforcement agencies."
House Dims will scream and holler but there’s nothing they can do to stop it. I wonder how much $$$$ will be found from other agencies.
There are places on the border where walls just won’t and don’t work. Thus, this article is informative and interesting:
US starts small with ‘smart walls’ to protect Mexican border

Retail Stores Shutting Locations in 2019
And they’re all offering immense liquidation sales. Great deals.
As this is one of those Yahoo things, I’m only going to name some of the ones I’m familiar with.
Family Dollar – up to 390
Gap – 230
Starbucks – 150 of the endless outlets that are everywhere
Sears – 89 by this month
Lowe’s – 51 this year
Abercrombie & Fitch – 40 over a year
Victoria’s Secret – 53 more
Chico’s – 250 – never heard of them
J.C.Penney – 27
Winn-Dixie and others – 22
Foot Locker – 165
Macy’s – 8
Kohl’s – 4
Are these signs of malls dying off? We have a couple here in Vegas that’ve shut down. A lot of it is blamed on the increase in online buying.

Hundreds Of Protestors Rally Against Rep. Ilhan Omar At Hamas-Linked CAIR Fundraiser
I really don’t understand the Dims. This woman openly supports a group linked to terrorism and nothing is done about it. In fact, they give her access to highly sensitive intelligence through her position on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
Rejecting Islamic anti-Semitism and its normalization. This is good to see. Omar ought to be under fire for appearing for Hamas-linked CAIR.
CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case — so named by the Justice Department.
CAIR officials have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups.
And word has it that a large number of people in her home district are taking steps to see she only serves 2 years in Congress.
Too bad there weren’t thousands protesting her appearance.

Beautiful Songs Named After Them
I couldn’t help myself on this one. No way I could pass it by.

Vets Are Out-Representing Non-Vets in STEM Jobs
My first question was, What does STEM mean?
So, I read the article to learn it means, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. A growing field begging for more workers.
Jobs requiring STEM expertise have grown 34 percent in recent years, the IVMF report said, and "veterans and transitioning service members represent a valuable, skilled talent pool from which to help meet this critical need."
By the raw numbers, about 696,000 veterans are in the STEM workforce, or 8.1 percent of all employed veterans, he said.
Veterans in STEM fields are also earning more than their non-veteran counterparts, Armstrong said. Veterans of all eras are making just shy of $94,000, on average, in STEM jobs, compared to $86,000 for civilians, he said.
It all goes along with the growing awareness that it does not take a 4 or 6 year college degree to get a well-paying, fulfilling job.

Want to Lose Weight? Drink Beer!
This Army vet apparently did by consuming nothing but beer for weeks.
Hall, the director of sales at Cincinnati's Fifty West Brewing Company, is fasting and having only beer for his caloric intake during Lent, the six-week religious season during which people typically give up daily vices like chocolate, soda, or social media use.
Since he has started his fast on Mar. 6, Hall claims he's lost over 25 pounds, according to his Facebook where he's posting daily status update videos of his weigh-ins, as well as weekly recaps.
He also takes a lot of multivitamins and drinks lots of water.

Breast Ironing!
This is the first I’ve heard of this.
What an absolutely barbaric and cruel practice.
There’s a full article about it on Wikipedia @ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breast_ironing
How many thousands, if not millions, of young girls have had to suffer this?

ISIS is Defeated. What now?
The US-backed SDF forces have reportedly captured more than 5,000 militants - from Syria and abroad - since January and put them in detention centres, while women and children are kept in camps for the displaced.
According to one Kurdish official speaking to AFP, more than 9,000 foreign relatives of IS members - many of them children - are being held at the Kurdish-run al-Hol camp.
The accommodation was built for about 20,000 people but is now housing more than 70,000.
So, what the hell to do with them?
They’re hard core jihadists and are not about to stop now. Set them free and they’ll just go back to doing what they did before.
And many come from other countries outside of Syria and Iraq, countries that don’t want them back. There is a solution, but no one will ever speak up and say it.

Trump in 2020
According to the HarrisX survey, 54% of registered voters said they’d think about voting for Trump while 46% said they wouldn’t.
I really don’t believe in these polls and would be willing to bet the actual number who will vote for him in 2020 is a whole lot bigger. Not just because of the economy but how the Dims are comporting themselves.
The margin of error in the poll — which was conducted before a summary of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation was released — is plus or minus 3.1 percent points.
Here’s some other findings:
95 percent of respondents who said they voted for Trump in 2016 said they’d do it again in 2020.
76 percent of 2016 Hillary Clinton voters said they would "never" vote for Trump; 24 percent said they’d at least consider it.
65 percent of respondents who didn’t vote in 2016 said they’d never vote for Trump; 35 percent said they could do so.

SCOTUS Agrees to Consider 2 Gerrymandering Suits
Before
After
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – In two cases that could reverberate through U.S. politics for years to come, the Supreme Court is set on Tuesday to hear arguments over the contentious practice of manipulating electoral district boundaries to entrench one party in power.
The justices last year failed to deliver a definitive ruling on the legality of the practice, called partisan gerrymandering. They will get another chance in cases challenging North Carolina’s Republican-drawn statewide U.S. House of Representatives map and a single Democratic-drawn House district in Maryland.
How do federal judges have the right to overturn what legislatures have done? They are not elected by the people. State judges might as they are voted into office.
Legislative districts across the country are redrawn to reflect population changes determined by the federal census each decade. In most states, redistricting is done by the party in power, though some assign the task to independent commissions in the interest of fairness.

Who’s Bankrolling the National Popular Vote Movement
I don’t think anyone is going to be surprised by this.
Care to take a guess who?
I’m not going to pinpoint anyone as this article points out far too many – every one of them a left-wing progressive. The goal is to ignore and override the 18th Amendment which called for Electors from every state to decide.
The National Popular Vote movement has never been a partisan movement. It is a bipartisan coalition of Republicans, Democrats, and independents who believe that every American voter should feel politically valued in every presidential election,” Anuzis said.
The former Michigan GOP leader noted that related legislation passed Republican-controlled legislative chambers in Arizona, Oklahoma, and New York. Of those states, only New York has joined the compact so far.

Black woman named Deputy Director of NASA’s Johnson Space Center, making history
This can’t be true!
According to the Dims, the Trump Administration is the most sexist and racist in history. Not only a female, but of African descent.
For the first time, a Black woman was named deputy director at NASA’s Johnson Space Center on Wednesday, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Vanessa Wyche, 54, who has spent almost 30 years with the space agency, will be the second in command at the Houston facility where 10,000 civil service and contract workers are employed.

Gay sex and adultery will be punishable by stoning to death and thieves will be amputated
Welcome to the enlightened Sultanate of Brunei.
Brunei could start whipping or stoning gay people to death next week when strict new laws are introduced, human rights groups have warned.
The tiny oil-rich nation already implements Sharia laws, with homosexuality punishable with up to ten years in prison.
But from the start of next month the government plans to amend the penal code to mean LGBT people and adulterers could be stoned to death, with thieves facing having hands or feet amputated.
Amnesty International today slammed the plans, describing the Islamic criminal laws for gay sex and theft as 'vicious'.
Brunei was the first East Asian country to introduce Islamic criminal law in 2014 when it announced the first of three stages of legal changes that included fines or jail for offences like pregnancy outside marriage or failing to pray on Friday.
Previously, homosexuality was illegal in Brunei and punishable by up to ten years imprisonment. But the changes would allow whipping and stoning to death for Muslims found guilty of adultery, sodomy and rape, said human rights groups.
I wonder how many Antifa and Dims now plan on moving there.

Trump Derangement Syndrome: It's Not in the DSM but Should Be
The “DSM” is The Bible of Psychiatry, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, gives a scale for obsessive behaviors.
Another one of those egg head things that shrinks use to determine behavioral conditions. And Donald Jr is right on target. Here’s a great example of it from the article:
Phillipe Reines' performance on Fox news right after AG Barr's letter dropped is illustrative. Each time Molly Hemingway tried to point out the fact that the indictments and pleas of Trump campaign associates had nothing to do with the collusion narrative, Reines shouted her down with "37 indictments and pleas!" He could not allow the truth to destroy his narrative that the presence of malfeasance in any arena was necessarily malfeasance by Trump. In psychiatry, this is called an "obsession."
And this:
Obsessive/Compulsive Personality Disorder (aka Trump Derangement Syndrome) is a major psychiatric defect. In this case it has its origin in the incontrovertible fact that only the Left is intelligent or wise. Thus, Donald Trump could not possibly win the Presidency. But when he won, it became imperative that his election be delegitimized.
So, you Lefties and Dims should ignore this but the rest of us will enjoy it @ https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2019/03/trump_derangement_syndrome_its_not_in_the_dsm_but_should_be.html

Three Soros Campaigns to Further Advance the Left’s Radical Agenda
Is this a Conspiracy Theory or a factual accounting?
I tend to believe Judicial Watch as it consistently uncovers corruption and bias.
Here are the three claims:
With the help of American taxpayer dollars, Soros bolsters a radical leftwing agenda that in the United States has included: promoting an open border with Mexico and fighting immigration enforcement efforts; fomenting racial disharmony by funding anti-capitalist racialist organizations; financing the Black Lives Matter movement and other organizations involved in the riots in Ferguson, Missouri; weakening the integrity of our electoral systems; promoting taxpayer funded abortion-on-demand; advocating a government-run health care system; opposing U.S. counterterrorism efforts; promoting dubious transnational climate change agreements that threaten American sovereignty and working to advance gun control and erode Second Amendment protections.
The list extends even further, with Soros tentacles—money—reaching previously unknown domestic and foreign causes that promote a broad leftwing agenda at various levels. It turns out Soros donated $408,000 to a Political Action Committee (PAC) that supported Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, whose office just dropped felony charges against the actor who fabricated a hate crime earlier this year.
A Soros foundation gave $1 million to a nonprofit that favors choosing the president by popular vote

Wow, Does President Trump Draw Crowds
And that was OUTSIDE the stadium.
A massive overflow crowd of thousands of red MAGA hat wearing supporters who could not get in to the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan, watched and listened outside to President Donald Trump’s raucous speech via jumbo video screens on a crisp spring evening. (Link to earlier TGP report on “sea of red hats” lined up before dawn.)
Makes one wonder what’s going on in Michigan. It has 14 Representatives; 7 GOP and 7 Dems. And, of course, Rashida Tlaib (D) is one of them.
Do you think the president can turn some of the (D) seats to GOP?

How to pick the perfect seat in a movie theater for sound and picture
Who the heck goes to movie theaters anymore? I haven’t been in one for so many ears I can’t remember what movie I went to see. With my big screen TV at home, why should I put up with lines and noisy kids or people?
According to this, the very center is best for viewing and sound.
Who’s surprised at that?

CanD29.99 for a 24-pack of Bottled Water!
And we think things are bad in our American Indian reservations!
Compare them to the indigenous people living in Canada’s Nnavut Provence.
In Nunavut, the number of children living with food insecurity — a lack of access to healthy, affordable food — went from 50 per cent in 2011, to over 70 per cent in 2015/16, according to the most recent figures available.
"It hurts to know that a child my daughter's age, who's only five, is actually hungry," Pameolik said. "It doesn't feel like we're a part of Canada."
Jones also acknowledges Nutrition North still needs work when it comes to determining which products to subsidize.
"People who live in the North [aren't] going to eat the exotic kiwi fruit, but they're going to need to have access to personal hygiene products," she said.
"It is still a problem, but it's one that's getting addressed, and I think that's the key piece right now."
For parents like Jo Ellen Pameolik, change can't come soon enough.
"These parents do absolutely anything they can so they can provide for their kids, and it hurts."

Brennan Has Meeting with House Dems
Just dropped by to “discuss the news of the day.”
How convenient.
W/ @meekwire: @JohnBrennan met with @LeaderHoyer and group of House Dems yesterday on Capitol Hill to discuss news of day, etc. Meeting w/ Hoyer's "leader's council" was scheduled before recent Mueller developments.

According to the House GOP, this news broke just hours after Speaker Pelosi said Democrats were “focused on meeting the needs of the American people in their lives” during a news conference.

LGBTQ Employees at DOJ Whining about Lack of EEO Statement
They say it’s “demoralizing.”
Sessions didn’t issue one and nor did his replacements, acting and appointed. And they complain that in an October 2018 survey "only 31% of respondents agreed that 'the Department of Justice values its LGBTQ employees.'"
Under Sessions, the department — that includes the Office of Inspector General, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Drug Enforcement Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Federal Bureau of Prisons, United States Marshals Service, and Office of Professional Responsibility — did not issue a EEO statement. The "EEO Policies, Plans, and Procedures" page on the DOJ website links to an EEO statement signed by former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, who served under President Barack Obama.

Big Increase in Meat Prices Coming
According to Agriculture Secretary Sunny Purdue, there “may be as many as a million calves lost in Nebraska” due to the catastrophic flooding that has hit the state.
This is not a rumor, this is not an exaggeration, and this is not based on any sort of speculation.  This number comes to us directly from the top agriculture official in the entire country, and it means that the economic toll from the recent floods is far greater than most of us had anticipated.  You can watch Purdue make this quote on Fox Business right here, and it is important to remember that this number is just for one state.  It is hard to imagine what the final numbers will look like when the livestock losses for all of the states affected by the flooding are tallied up.  This is already the worst agricultural disaster in modern American history, and the National Weather Service is telling us that there will be more catastrophic flooding throughout the middle portion of the nation for the next two months.
Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts says that this is the worst flooding that his state has ever experienced.  Ricketts originally told us that 65 out of the 93 counties in his state have declared a state of emergency, but that number has now risen to 74.  Hundreds of millions of dollars of damage has been done in his state alone, and that is just an initial estimate.
Doesn’t read like much until you realize that those calves grow up to be adults that get fattened is stockyards and are sold to packing companies that send the meat to your table. No calves, no meat. No meat, high prices as it has to come from somewhere else.

Mercedes Boondoggle
An unlicensed and uninsured driver hit my wife from behind. She was driving a junker VW while my wife was in our brand new 2019 Nissan Titan with a bit over 2k miles. Our insurance is covering the vehicle damage so we took it to Service King. We also got a rental from Hertz.
What an over-priced piece of garbage!
It takes a week-long course just to figure out all the blasted gimmicks in it. Nothing is easy and the owner’s manual leaves much to be desired.
Doesn’t explain how to adjust the electric interior rear view mirror.
And rides like it’s on iron wheels! You feel every single crack and bump on the road.
We can’t wait to get our truck back. It’s got lots of electric goodies too but they’re a whole lot easier to figure out.
$52-$100k for one of those clunker Mercedes/Benz SUVs.
