The Truth About Separating Kids at the Border

The past practice had been to give a free pass to an adult who is part of a family unit. The new Trump policy is to prosecute all adults. The idea is to send a signal that we are serious about our laws and to create a deterrent against re-entry. (Illegal entry is a misdemeanor, illegal re-entry a felony.)

In other words, they knew that under Obama they could get inside as long As they had kids with them. President Trump has put a stop to that, just as he promised.

Where it becomes much more of an issue is if the adult files an asylum claim. In that scenario, the adults are almost certainly going to be detained longer than the government is allowed to hold their children.

That’s because of something called the Flores Consent Decree from 1997. It says that unaccompanied children can be held only 20 days. A ruling by the Ninth Circuit extended this 20-day limit to children who come as part of family units. So even if we want to hold a family unit together, we are forbidden from doing so.

And where do these “asylum seekers” learn this stuff? Most can barely read and have little or no education. Who tells them to take their kids along so they can get into the US by pleading for asylum?

Gotta admit the mayor doesn’t hold back. He fits perfectly with President Trump as both say what they mean without apologizing.

Asked to clarify his comments about former Democratic Vice President Joe Biden as being a "mentally deficient idiot," America's Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who is an attorney for President Trump, said he didn't mean it that way but meant to say that Biden is "dumb," because of his class ranking in law school and his instances of plagiarism.



More Women in Government Equals Less Corruption

Research into 125 countries would seem to be rather compelling. There’s a little note hidden in there that indicates one reason is that women have not yet reached the levels where they get access to the networks of corruption. In general though, it seems that more women in government at all levels cleans up things.

The policy implications of the study point towards the need for promoting gender equality in general and promoting the presence of women in politics in particular. Previous research has established that a greater presence of women in government is associated with better education and health outcomes.

Has anyone beside me noticed what an important part women are playing in the Trump administration. He clearly gets it.

I hate getting stuck behind these belching monsters. I think some owners purposely do things to their vehicles that make them do it. However, this indicates there might be something to make it more tolerable.

Waste oil from orange, tea tree and eucalyptus essential oil production mixed with diesel provides a sweet-smelling biofuel blend with comparable performance to diesel-only fuel.

Will it increase the already high cost of the fuel? And this indicates it might increase mileage.

A survey conducted by Unique Research for Profile Magazine revealed that 66 percent of Austrians believe the government’s decision to shut down seven mosques and to consider the expulsion of dozens of imams was right.

The number of those who say the approach is “too soft” is higher than those who believe it is “too harsh” – 14 percent to 10 percent. Ten percent of the respondents were undecided.
