Some Critter-Related News For Today

We get so much news about politics, terrorism, crime, and everything else that I figure it's time to deal with news in a lighter vein.

Camera Captures Viral Video of Camels Literally Swimming Across Sea @ https://www.westernjournal.com/ct/camera-captures-viral-video-of-camels-literally-swimming-across-sea/

For two days a week now, the Kharai camels are left to themselves on one of the seven mangrove islands that dot the creek at Mohadi in Kutch district of Gujarat,” India’s The Hindu reported last April. “They swim 10 km, along with their handlers, taking anywhere between two and three hours to reach the islands, locally called Bet, along the Gulf of Kutch. Once on the islands, the camels start feeding on mangroves.”

The camels swim long distances in the sea to reach the grazing areas — usually more than 3 km at a time even in deep waters. They eat large volumes of saline plant species.”

Drone Spies Crocodile Eating Dead Whale Alongside Tiger Sharks, Much To The Sharks’ Dismay

“The crocodile was incredible here,” he said with awe. When the whale washed up later, a dozen or so of the animals all came together to feast, but only one went into the ocean. Gallagher thinks the croc likely saw the whale in the distance from shore, as they’re highly visual predators, and took a chance. “There was just one brave crocodile that who went for it, and swam out 1,000 meters to find this food source.”

Treasury Dept. Kills 305 Obsolete Rules, Introduces 250 Deregulatory Initiatives

I wonder how many other Executive Branch departments/agencies have done the same.

The Treasury Department recently released a report detailing its progress on the path of regulatory reform.

The Treasury said it’s rolled back 305 regulations, including 298 outdated IRS rules since President Trump took office.

The department also said it has dropped 94 rules from its regulatory agenda annually, and introduced zero new regulations.

Additionally, the Treasury has put forth over 250 recommendations on deregulation in the financial sector.

Secretary Steven Mnuchin said the reforms are crucial to promoting U.S. business activity and ensuring a quicker GDP growth.

Hogg and His Gun Nut Pals Give the NRA a Bonanza

The Miami Herald reports that the $2.4 million collected in March “is the most money raised by the NRA’s political arm in one month since June 2003.”
Donations during March 2018 eclipsed other high water marks for the Political Victory Fund. For example, January and February 2013–the two month immediately following the Sandy Hook Elementary School attack–saw fundraising totals of $1.1 million and $1.5 million. The figure of $1.5 million was surpassed by nearly one million dollars last month.
The $2.4 million consisted largely of donations totaling $200 or less, which means the number of donors was substantial.

Lets have them demonstrate some more about gun control.

Why Liberals Are More Likely to Be Unhappy People

Before reading the article, I would guess it's because they can't or won't do anything for themselves - always counting on others to take the lead.

Scholars on both the left and right have studied this question extensively, and have reached a consensus that it is conservatives who possess the happiness edge. Many data sets show this. For example, the Pew Research Center in 2006 reported that conservative Republicans were 68 percent more likely than liberal Democrats to say they were “very happy” about their lives. This pattern has persisted for decades. The question isn’t whether this is true, but why.
