Littoral Combat Ship Is a Floating Garbage Pile

Who in the hell came up with the idea of these things?

After 16 years and billions of dollars, the Navy may have finally acknowledged that its Littoral Combat Ship program looks like a miserable failure.
Here's a brief list of their deficiencies:

This problems include: a concerning deficit in combat system elements (namely radar systems), limited anti-ship missile self-defense capabilities, and a lack of redundancies for vital systems necessary to reduce the chance that “a single hit will result in loss of propulsion, combat capability, and the ability to control damage and restore system operation.”

Neither LCS variant is survivable in high-intensity combat,” according to the DoD report. “Although the ships incorporate capabilities to reduce their susceptibility to attack, testing of analogous capabilities in other ship classes demonstrated that such capabilities have limited effectiveness in high-intensity combat.”

Most of them are unfit for service.

Veteran Candidates to Score Big in 2018 Midterms?

Could be the big "Wave" everybody seems to be talking about. And it's not just Dems or Repubs.

One particularly striking finding is that significant numbers of voters on both sides of the spectrum (29% of Democrats and 32% of Republicans) are willing to forgo party affiliation to cast a vote for a veteran. And four out of five voters from both parties think veterans have the “attitudes and maturity” needed in Congress. The poll found veterans are viewed as mission-oriented coalition builders who can work across the aisle.

And here's something to ponder:

There are more than 300 veterans running for Congress, according to Zeng. With Honor is endorsing 19 candidates — eight Republicans, including Crenshaw, and eleven Democrats — running for Congress across the country. The candidates come from the four main branches of the military and each signed a pledge to “lead with integrity, civility, and courage, including the courage to meet with someone from another party at least once each month and to sponsor legislation with a member of another party at least once every year.”

Think of that - more than 300 vets.

A Lot of Backlash on The Blues

Some headlines that show some major splits and failures of the Left.

Seems she isn't far left enough.

According to Mediaite, Ingraham’s show, “The Ingraham Angle,” averaged 2.69 million viewers this week, while her closest competitor, Lawrence O’Donnell of MSNBC, averaged 2.6 million viewers. “CNN Tonight,” which is hosted by anchor Don Lemon, averaged far less viewers: 1.29 million

No Wonder the Left Wants EPA Administrator Pruitt Fired

With all the screams about his actions being sounded, one can only speculate that he's doing exactly what the president and the American people want him to do.

The Daily Caller reported on the latest unsubstantiated allegations lodged against Pruitt by the liberal media, this time in regard to his efforts at dismantling and reducing the influence of the agency he oversees, and to say the allegations are a bit ridiculous and petty would be an understatement.

Perhaps you might chuckle as you read the rest @ https://conservativetribune.com/pruitts-waging-war-on-epa/

Google Has More on You Than Facebook

And if you want to download it, here's what to do:

Google hasn't added search to its Takeout dashboard yet so you'll have to go to the Google History page to grab your search archive, as first noted by the Google Operating System blog.

Once you're there and signed in to your account, click on the settings cog in the upper right corner and select Download.

I didn't see anywhere instructions on how to delete any of this information. Go to https://www.pcworld.com/article/2912358/how-to-download-your-entire-google-search-history.htmlfor more details.

Papago Indians Don't Want National Guard or Border Patrol on Their Land

The reservation is on the border and considered to be on the DEA's High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas. A map of those areas can be found @ https://www.dea.gov/ops/hidta.shtml

The reservation is a primary transshipment zone for methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin and marijuana destined for the United States, a DEA official revealed in congressional testimony a few years ago. In 2015 Arizona led all four Border Patrol sectors in drug seizures with 928,858 pounds of drugs confiscated, according to agency figures.

I wrote about the tribe (The Tohono O'odham) and their reservation in my novel, Sonora Symphony, and understand their anger that the border splits their ancestral territory in half. breaking up families. But I never knew they were at war with the federal government over drugs - and clearly illegals - being smuggled across the border through their reservation.

The sovereignty of tribal lands is all well and good. But, does it permit outright flaunting of national security? And, if security is tightened elsewhere, it stands to reason that even more smuggling will go through the reservation if something isn't done to stop it.

Feds will close 74 refugee offices during the course of this year

How can they be non-profit organizations when they receive $2,125 in federal dollars for each refugee they resettle?

All of the approximately 320 local offices provide new arrivals with housing and social services including language training, job-search assistance, school-enrollment assistance and help integrating into the community during their first months in the United States. [They can never bring themselves to say they are signing them up for welfare, medical care and food stamps!—ed]

In practice, virtually all resettlement offices also provide a variety of services to other immigrant, minority, and vulnerable communities alongside refugees, and assist refugees beyond the first months of resettlement. [Yes, we know they are providing taxpayer-funded services to illegal migrants too!—ed] They rely on private donations for these programs. [No they don’t! Only small amounts!—ed]

They will close 74 offices this year and stop the opening of 11 new ones.

Did you now that your tax money is paying for the food, clothing, and housing? I wouldn't mind if they were truly "refugees" but most are single, adult males who should be spending their energies trying to rebuild and/or reform their native countries.

Uncle Joe: "Republicans Don't Want Black Folks Voting"

Another gift that just keeps on giving.

Partial transcript as follows:

SHARPTON: Let me ask you about voting rights. That was another thing the Obama-Biden administration was heavy on under attorney general well as Lynch going in with lawsuits against voter ID and doing in to deal with voter suppression. They have said that foreigners are voting.

BIDEN: It’s a lie. It’s a flat lie. The assertion the president made from the beginning is a flat lie. Every study, every program -every commission that looked at it said it’s simply not true. It’s part of the big lie. You realize just in past year, in 24 states, the administration’s allies have introduced 60 pieces of legislation, or maybe 70 pieces of legislation, to curtail the franchise. It’s what these guys are all about, man. These Republicans don’t want working-class people voting. They don’t want black folks voting. Look what we are doing now. There’s a movement. You have George Will making the argument that felons should have their—after serving their time—their right restored to vote. What is the one thing we want people getting out of prison to do? We want them to engage in society again. What’s the most significant thing you can do to engage? Get in and vote. These guys, you’re talking about 1.5 million people who have served their time who are unable to vote. Of those there are 30% or more that are African American. We should have like other countries have, automatic registration. You turn 18, you go to any government agency, Department of Motor Vehicle, get your Social Security number clarified and you are automatically registered to vote in your district. We should be be engaged. That’s the one thing that keeps people focused on what’s going on in their country. It’s totally crazy.

Pro Golfer Gets a "Birdie" on a Par 3 Hole But Ends Up With a Double Bogey

You can't make stuff like this up.

Professional golfer Kelly Kraft did just that when he was was playing the par-3 14th hole on Friday at the Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. He hit a 7-iron toward the green, but his ball hit a bird in midair and plopped into the water. Kraft went on to double bogey the hole — and missed the cut by just one stroke.

He took it all in stride and said he's looking forward to next week's tournament.
