Wealthy Elitists Freak Out As Hordes Of Homeless People Take Over Their Neighborhoods All Over The West Coast
We see them here all the time in Las Vegas. But nowhere the numbers reported in this piece.
Even though the mainstream media keeps telling us that the U.S. economy is “booming”, the number of Americans living on the streets continues to grow very rapidly, and this is particularly true in our major west coast cities.  More than half a million Americans will sleep on the streets of our cities tonight, and they need help, care and shelter.  Sadly, as economic conditions deteriorate that number is likely to double or even triple.  Of course many among the elite are all in favor of doing something for the homeless, as long as they don’t have to be anywhere around them.
And of course, the elite hidden behind their gated communities don’t really care.
Until.
But of course many of the elite that paid millions of dollars for beachfront property are not too thrilled about this.  Sex Pistols frontman Johnny Rotten was a key symbol of anti-establishment rebellion in the 1970s, but now he is freaking out because homeless people are making life very difficult for him and his wife in Venice Beach, and what he recently told Newsweek’s Paula Froelich is making headlines all over the nation
He told her the homeless situation in his swanky LA neighborhood is so bad that thieves are tearing the bars from the windows of his multimillion-dollar home, lobbing bricks, setting up unsightly tent cities and littering the beach with syringes.
A couple of weeks ago I had a problem,” the former punk prince opined. “They came over the gate and put their tent inside, right in front of the front door. It’s like . . . the audacity. And if you complain, what are you? Oh, one of the establishment elite? No, I’m a bloke that’s worked hard for his money and I expect to be able to use my own front door.”
My question is one nobody seems to be answering.
Why are they homeless?
Because they want to be? Or because they have no other choices?

And here’s what Wiki says about homelessness:
Causes of homelessness in the United States include lack of affordable housing, divorce, lawful eviction, negative cash flow, post traumatic stress disorder, foreclosure, fire, natural disasters (hurricane, earthquake, or flood), mental illness, physical disability, having no family or supportive relatives, substance abuse, lack of needed services, elimination of pensions and unemployment entitlements, no or inadequate income sources (such as Social Security, stock dividends, or annuity), poverty (no net worth), gambling, unemployment, and low-paying jobs. Homelessness in the United States affects many segments of the population, including families, children, domestic violence victims, ex-convicts, veterans, and the aged. Efforts to assist the homeless include federal legislation, non-profit efforts, increased access to healthcare services, supportive housing, and affordable housing.
It’s been around for 55 years and billions of taxpayer money has been poured into it. Some say that $22 TRILLION has been spent from 1964 to 2014.
So, what about today?
The economy is booming.
Employers are begging for people to fill vacant jobs. They even offer full training.
Any answers?

Can President Trump win New Hampshire, Nevada, Colorado, and New Mexico. In 2020?
His campaign staff thinks so. With the Dimocrap zoo in full swing, they think the time is ripe to gain them, along with Pennsylvania, Michigan and Florida.
In every single metric we’re looking at being bigger, better and badder than we were in 2016,” Parscale said in an interview with CBS News. “But this time, we’re not out there trying to prove we can do something. The president’s proved he has done it, and now we just have to deliver what he’s done.”
And that’s in spite of the current effort by leftist radicals to keep the president off the ballot in 2020.

An Estimated 150-200 Million Pigs” Have Been Hit By A Global Plague Of Biblical Proportions
I was going to make a snide comment about this but the seriousness of the situation overrode it.
African Swine Fever is the greatest threat to global food production that we have seen since World War II ended. As you will see below, the disease has now spread “to every province in mainland China”, and it has now infected “an estimated 150-200 million pigs”. To put that number in perspective, that is more pigs than the entire U.S. pork industry produces in an entire year. In other words, the equivalent of the entire U.S. pork industry has just been wiped out. On top of that, African Swine Fever has also spread to Cambodia, Tibet, Romania, South Africa and Vietnam. The losses are staggering, and this crisis continues to get worse with each passing week.
So far, we’ve been extremely lucky that it hasn’t yet reached North America and the agriculture industry is doing everything possible to stop it.
Even if a pig survives African Swine Fever, it is often culled anyway to help prevent the spread of the disease.
There is no vaccine, and there is no cure. And even if this outbreak was ended immediately, it would likely take the Chinese pork industry many years to recover. The following comes from CNN…
China normally accounts for 49% of global pork consumption, while consuming 28% of the world’s meat supply,” said Arlan Suderman, chief commodities economist at INTL FCStone. “As such, this is a big problem for China, and we expect it to be a five to seven year problem before production can be restored.”
And experts agree it will continue to spread.

Water Dogs In the News
First time I’ve read Coasties being called that. Kinda on target.
Yes, they drive orange boats and fly orange choppers.
The Coast Guard has a new contract out to get the Water Dogs a new icebreaker fleet.
The Navy and Coast Guard have awarded a Mississippi shipbuilder a contract that could be worth as much as $1.9 billion to build a new fleet of icebreakers.
Their last icebreaker was built in 1976. Good for President Trump to be making efforts to bring the Coast Guard up to snuff.

Daily Source Bias Check: Buzzfeed
I check this site daily and find it more than believable. I’m glad there’s a place where one can go to get a realistic picture of information sources.
I actually think this view of Buzzfeed is a bit on the conservative side.
These media sources have a slight to moderate liberal bias.  They often publish factual information that utilizes loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes) to favor liberal causes.  These sources are generally trustworthy for information, but may require further investigation. See all Left-Center sources.

Overall, we rate Buzzfeed Left-Center Biased due to story selection that tends to favor the left and Mixed for factual reporting based on poor sourcing and a few failed fact checks.

'Jeopardy' star James Holzhauer barely gets 18th win by just $18
I watched the show and held my breath as Adam Levin gave him a real run for the money. I was also watching how nervous James was, seeming quite unsure of
 himself at times.
Is there someone out there just waiting to unseat him?

Here’s how B-2 bomber pilots pull off grueling 33-hour flights
I cannot even begin to comprehend what it must be like. I’ve spent endless hours behind the wheel of a car driving cross-country, but was able to stop, get out, and take care of business. My longest flight was from Travis AFB to Vietnam. But we made 2 stops along the way.
24 hours plus in the cockpit?
Beck noted the importance of staying hydrated and said he brings bottles of water and Gatorade aboard flights.
Haffner brings toiletries, spare clothes and light snacks.
I kind of relate it to driving on a road trip,” he said. “You're stopping by the fast food restaurant, and you get the double cheeseburger and the fries and the shake and everything, and you're going to put yourself to sleep. But if you don't eat anything, you're also going to feel miserable. So you’ve got to find that happy middle point.”
Environmental cues can also cue the body to stay awake or sleep. For example, Beck’s 33-hour B-52 flight to Japan followed the sun, giving the crew only a few hours of darkness.
Your mind doesn't know what to think at that point. You're just awake,” Beck said, adding that situations like that can cause the crew to lose track of time.
You’re very thankful when you land, I’ll say that."
I was informed by someone on the net that the B2 has a small toilet and even a cot for pilots to nap.

Beehives in Texas attacked, set on fire, killing half a million bees
What kind of sickos would do such a thing?
They not only provide the Nectar of the Gods but keep the environment healthy and productive by pollinating plants.
They say it’ll be hard to track down the perps but with a $6k award in the works, someone somewhere will shoot off their mouths.
The beehives were discovered on Saturday morning scattered across the bee yard, the Brazoria County Beekeepers Association (BCBA) wrote on Facebook. Several hives appeared ashen-black and one brood frame floated in the water nearby with bees still caring for the eggs.
It’s bad enough to think in today’s world this would happen but dumping them over and then setting fire to them is beyond comprehension,” the BCBA said in the post.

Antifa vs Proud Boys Brawl In Portland (AGAIN)
We’ve seen this coming for some time. Rightist groups totally fed up and angry confronting leftist Antifa groups. Is this the start of more violent confrontations?
Lots of photos and videos. One Proud Boy got a bit more than he expected.

The history—and future—of hitting the road
Most of us take our roads and highways for granted. They’re just there and we only really pay attention when we encounter frustrating detours – or potholes. This article provides a history of roads dating back 10,000 years and a glimpse of what the future will be like.
Self-repairing roads?
Here’s the most interesting area to me:
5.Emerging asphalt alternatives.
Rubber – all those thousands of used tires we see everywhere
Plastic – a way to recycles those millions of items tossed away daily
Food scraps (?) coffee grounds?????
6. Gravel is back.

Here’s a screenshot of one of the ads:

We bring Afghan pilots here to train – and they go AWOL!
We not only have invaders at our southern borders and people overstaying their visas, now we find military personnel we bring here to learn to defend their homelands don’t want to go back. They leave the military installation and try to melt into communities of their kind.
The U.S. military may no longer track how much territory the Afghan government controls, but here's at least one definite metric of success: Afghan AC-208 pilots are no longer trained in the United States because more than 40 percent of the students training to fly the aircraft end up deserting within U.S. borders
I wonder how many other country’s students are doing the same.

Maggot sausage and a scoop of insect ice-cream
I really hope you’ve got a strong stomach.

Air Force Scraps, Revises Hundreds of Rules That Bog Down Airmen
If anyone has ever entered a military administration office, the first thing they have to notice are the numerous bookshelves laden with regulations and pamphlets. Having been an Administrative NCO I can tell you it’s mind-numbing.
That’s why this seems so awesome to me.
According to a memo signed by Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson, Chief of Staff Gen. David Goldfein and Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force Kaleth O. Wright on April 19, the service has combed through 778 regulations -- eliminating 328 of them and revising the remaining 450.
"The benefit to airmen is the elimination of unnecessary tasks, reduction of inspection checklist items, removal of duplicative instructions and elimination of conflicting guidance," the memo states. The news was first reported by Stars and Stripes last week.
"Decision authority is now pushed to the lowest level, and waiver authorities have been streamlined and are less cumbersome," according to the memo.
The last paragraph is the one I like most.

Private Payrolls Grew By 275,000 In April
Of all the labor statistics I’ve seen, this is the most striking.
Over one quarter of a million people now earning paychecks. A whole lot of household now paying for food and shelter – and maybe helping get out of debt for being unemployed.
Services-providing jobs increased by 223,000 in April, led by a gain of 59,000 positions in professional and business services. Education and health services companies added 54,000 jobs while employment within the leisure and hospitality industry expanded by 53,000.
Goods-producing jobs — which include construction, manufacturing and mining — rose by 52,000, led by a 49,000 payrolls increase in construction. The economy added just 5,000 manufacturing jobs while mining employment declined by 2,000.
