Trump’s People Bite Back, Ukrainians to elect comedian, Barbed wire’s history, SpaceX gets Trifecta and more for April 13, 2019

Trump wants a larger, more aggressive mission for US troops at the Mexican border
Something MUST be done. With the tacit approval of the Dims, we are experiencing a full-scale invasion and stupid laws has our hands tied.
President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that to send additional U.S. troops to the southwestern border with Mexico — and he indicated he wants service members to do more than just build physical barriers.
"I'm going to have to call up more military," Trump told reporters at the White House. "Our military – don't forget – can't act like a military would act. Because if they got a little rough, everybody would go crazy."
The president did not explain what constraints on U.S. military behavior he was referring to apart from a vague mention of "all these horrible laws" he accused Democrats of refusing to change.
"I think they will pay a very big price in 2020 for all of the things, whether it is the fake witch hunt they start out, or whether it is a situation like this," he continued. "I think the border is going to be an incredible issue."
White House officials did not immediately respond to Task & Purpose questions about whether the president wants to expand the U.S. military's mission on the border to include law enforcement.
And the media is ignoring the fact that they are coming in such numbers because the organizers are telling them we won’t turn them back, especially if they have children with them.
Don’t just use tear gas, use CS and something even stronger. What other country in the world would refuse to defend its border and its people?
Militia Group to Guard Border Until 'That Wall Is Up'
The Dims will call this group “lawless white supremacists” and demand they be taken into custody. It will be interesting to see what the Border Patrol and local law enforcement does about them.
A militia group camped out along the United States' border with Mexico plans to keep patrolling for illegal immigrants until the longer border wall is built.
The United Constitutional Patriots (UCP) is based in Flora Vista, New Mexico, which lies in the northwestern corner of the state. But some of its members, who are legally armed, have situated themselves along the Mexican border in Arizona, just to the west of El Paso, Texas. Their self-imposed mission is to keep watch and report any illegal border crossers to the Border Patrol.
According to AFP, around six of the group's members — most of them aging veterans — are staying in tents. They plan to stay until President Donald Trump's wall is finished.
"We're here to assist the Border Patrol because they are so short-handed," the group's leader, a 70-year-old known as "Striker," told AFP.
"We have a good work rapport with them. Our goal was to be here until we're not needed. And when we're not needed is when that wall is up."

Trump’s People Bite Back
Candace Owens Absolutely Destroys Rep. Ted Lieu in House Testimony
One has to wonder if these Dims are either just not informed by their staffs or they are too stupid to understand the information they’ve been given.

We then move to Her Ignorance, Maxine Waters.

Waters Hits Mnuchin With Gavel of Condescension in Heated Exchange
And he takes her to the woodshed.

US Navy Stealth Submarine Facility
In northern Idaho!!!
The NSWCCD Acoustic Research Detachment (ARD) is located on Lake Pend Oreille, which is Idaho's largest, deepest (1,150 feet), and quietest body of water providing an ideal environment for acoustic testing without the attendant problems and costs of open ocean operations (U.S. Navy)
And it’s been there since World War II.
This surfaced because a 48-by-80 foot barge capsized. Some guesses are it was caused by an ice buildup.

Trump Gets a New Dept of Interior Secretary
Another win for the president. 3 Dems voted for him; Joe Manchin (W.Va.), Martin Heinrich (N.M.) and Kyrsten Sinema (Ariz.), as well as Sen. Angus King (I-Maine).
As deputy secretary, Bernhardt played a key, behind-the-scenes role in gutting environmental regulations and advancing the Trump administration’s fossil fuel-centric “energy dominance” agenda. He brings to the top post a slew of potential conflicts of interests stemming from his years as an energy lobbyist, experience that has earned him labels like the “ultimate D.C. swamp creature.” He’s come under increased scrutiny in recent weeks after two New York Times articles showed he intervened to block a scientific report on the threat certain pesticides pose to endangered species and continued to lobby for a former client months after signing papers promising to cease such activity.

Unions Bleed Dues-Paying Members
Tears are welling up in my eyes.
Two of the largest public sector unions in the country lost more than 210,000 so-called “agency fee members” in the wake of last year’s Supreme Court ruling that said unions could no longer force non-members to pay partial dues. That case, Janus v. American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, effectively freed public workers from having to make “fair share” payments—usually totaling about 70 to 80 percent of full union dues—in lieu of joining a union as a full-fledged member.
The exact figures are astounding.
Now, annual reports filed with the federal Department of Labor show that the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) lost 98 percent of it’s agency fee-paying members during the past year. Another large public sector union, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), lost 94 percent of their agency fee-paying members.
Even though unions were preparing for a mass exodus in the wake of the Janus ruling, the numbers are staggering. In 2017, AFSCME reported having 112,233 agency fee payers (compared to 1.3 million dues-paying members), but that figure dropped to just 2,215 in the union’s 2018 report. The SEIU reported having 104,501 agency fee-payers in 2017 (compared to 1,919,358 dues-paying members), but just 5,812 of them at the end of 2018.
Now, if they can only get Civil Service rules to change so the sluggards can get the boot.

Democrats ‘Swiftly’ Prepare Response to Mueller Report
The Democrats are preparing their response to the Mueller report despite the fact that they have no idea what will be in the mysterious document. CNN describes the response as a “swift” one. I get the impression that it doesn’t matter what’s in that report, do you?
Pelosi went off the deep end when AG Barr said there was spying – hinting it came from her side. And the rest are doing their best to find ways to spin the report their way – which apparently isn’t going to happen.

When one Senator asked him to clarify the word spying, his response was; “Unauthorized surveillance...is that more appropriate?”

The Myth of Authenticity Is Killing Tex-Mex
Let’s face it, most “Mexican Food” isn’t Mexican. Let’s take a look at the common taco.
If it has a corn flour tortilla, it’s okay. But a wheat flour one isn’t as wheat was only introduced to the New World with the arrival of the Spanish.
Lettuce? Another European addition.
Tomatoes? They came from Peru after the Spanish showed up.
Beef or Chicken? Sorry. Another European deal. Fish is okay as that was a major Mexican protein source.
Chilis in the sauce are okay as all chilis originated in Mexico.
Chili con carne? Oops. Beef.
And how many platters come with rice? That came from India by way of the Philippines.
I could go on and on but will direct you to this Pocket article @ https://getpocket.com/explore/item/the-myth-of-authenticity-is-killing-tex-mex

President Trump is Building a Huge Political Campaign Operation
The man learns. He also understands what he’s facing in 2020 and is preparing for it.
Looking ahead to the 2020 campaign for the presidency, Brad Parscale, manager of the Trump 2020 re-election campaign, said on Fox News on Tuesday night that President Donald Trump “is one of the best marketers in American history. I think he understands the people. He understands how to communicate to people.” And as he and his team prepare for the next election, “he’s going to move in a way” that projects his strengths and reacts to whatever opposing candidate he winds up facing on the Democrat side.
Either way,” he told host Laura Ingraham of “The Ingraham Angle,” “he’s going to stay strong. He’s fighting for this country. He did this [ran for the White House] for no other reason but to save the country, and I don’t think he’s going to move away from that … It’s how we won the [2016] election and it’s going to be how he continues to win.”
Parscale added that the Trump team is “building one of the largest political campaign operations in history. I think he’s put so much emphasis in what we’re building in 2020. I go in weekly and give these reports. He’d be wasting a considerable amount of time, which he does not like to do” — if he didn’t want to run again, which some people actually have suggested.
And he’s going to mix official events with campaign rallys.

The 45 Club
Never heard of it?
That’s because they try to stay low key and out of the media’s view.
Who are they?
Current and former Trump staffers.
Yeah. Them.
Nobody knows where or when they are going to meet until they respond to the invitation. And nobody says who it is who’s sending out the invites.
The club, an informal gathering that provides solidarity and networking opportunities in a hostile Washington, is open to what it calls “the Team” — Trump administration appointees as well as alumni of the campaign, transition and inaugural committee. Members wear a lapel pin fashioned after the butt end of a .45 caliber bullet casing and attend semi-regular gatherings that often feature remarks by better-known Trump-world figures such as Brad Parscale, Corey Lewandowski and (Anthony) Scaramucci.
Politico gives an overview of the group. While it seems somewhat bland, I get the gut feeling that it’s a semi-hit piece when it calls the group’s makeup as “skews young and male.”

Trump Hoping to Eliminate Major Federal Agency
President Donald Trump is moving to dismantle the Office of Personnel Management, The Washington Post is reporting.
The 5,565 employee agency would see its functions divided among three other departments. An executive order directing parts of the transition is in the last stages of reviews administration officials tell the newspaper.
I was hoping to read that he was going to do away with a lot more than one. And, as the above notes, they people working there won’t be fired, they’ll be parceled out to other agencies where they’ll do the same old make-work stuff.

Ukrainians Likely to Elect Comedian
Why not? We have dozens of them vying for the Democrat selection here.

Most Money Sent to Mexico Goes Through Fed Reserve Program
Directo a Mexico is a government program operated by the Federal Reserve. And it was set up under President GW Bush, acknowledging that “most of the Mexicans sending money back home are illegal immigrants.”
Figures released by Mexico’s central bank show that 104 million transactions were executed in 2018, nearly six million more than the previous year. A record $33.48 BILLION was sent through this channel.
The president suggested stopping sending money via Western Union but nothing has been said about this Fed program.

The Destruction of Sports As We Know It
Through the history of Mankind, men and women has participated in sports. But always within their own arenas of skillsets.
Not any more, according to Dims at all levels.
234 House Democrats, Two Republicans Co-Sponsor Bill Forcing Schools To Let Male Athletes Compete On Girls’ Sports Teams
All one has to do is “identify as transgender” to be allowed to participate in girls’ sports. What a crock of male bovine excrement.
I’m sorry but even I, not in the least bit an expert in human physiology am aware of the physical differences between males and females.
Democrats’ Equality Act would amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to make “sexual orientation and gender identity” protected characteristics under federal anti-discrimination law. Among other things, the bill would force public schools to expand female athletic teams to include biological males who identify as transgender girls.
Of the 235 Democrats in the House, 234 have co-sponsored the legislation. (That’s not counting Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico’s non-voting representatives, who also signed on as co-sponsors.)
Reps. John Katko of New York and Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania are the only
House Republicans to co-sponsor the bill.
Illinois Rep. Dan Lipinski, the only pro-life Democrat left in the House, is also the only one in his party not co-sponsoring the Equality Act.

Trumps Reelection Campaign to “Drain the Swamp”
A heck of a lot easier than trying to do the same thing with civil service wonks.
Trump’s re-election campaign manager Brad Parscale has established strict standards for all campaign employees, vendors, volunteers, and consultants who must agree to before signing on to officially help Trump’s re-election chances . They bar them from any financial benefits from outside vendors, lobbyists, or Political Action Committees (PACs) without the approval of the campaign treasurer.
As a candidate, Donald Trump promised to drain the swamp,” Kayleigh McEnany told Breitbart News. “As president, he has done just that, setting new precedents for how both government and presidential campaigns should operate.”

US Wins Soft Lumber Dispute With Canada
I’ve been reading about this but didn’t really understand it until I came across this article.
The basics are that Trudeau’s government allows companys to remove trees from federal (Canadian) land at a discount so long as the timber is exported. That forces American lumber mills out of business because they can’t match Canadian prices.
[NOTE: This is the same issue with Steel and Aluminum from China]
As a consequence, in 2017 Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross instituted a 20% tariff on Canadian lumber to protect the U.S. lumber industry. The tariff is a countervailing duty to offset the Canadian subsidy. ie. “zeroing”.
So Canada “goes bananas” and sues the US at the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Oops.
However, in a departure from prior WTO opinion; and conceding to the obvious validity of the math while faced with a U.S. president who would not relent; the WTO agreed with President Trump, Secretary Ross and Ambassador Lighthizer and affirmed the 20% tariff as a valid countervailing duty.
The softwood lumber tariff was upheld by the WTO and Canada has lost its case.

A Brief History of Barbed Wire
After all the political news, it was refreshing to run across this piece.
I will never forget the hours I spent in my youth digging post holes and then stringing thousands of feet of barbed wire. Heavy gloves and Levis kept away the worst of the scratches. But not all.
There are more than 700 steel knots in The “Bobbed Wire” Bible, Jack Glover’s “illustrated guide to identification and classification” of barbed wire. They have names like Scutt’s Wooden Block, Greenbriar, Glidden Union Pacific, and the J. Brotherton Parallel.
And, of course, one that’s very important at the moment.
Not exactly what you’d use to fence a pasture.
