News and Instersting Stuff for August 9, 2018

Note: today is my 29th wedding anniversary. Took 4 times to get it right.

Donald J. Trump, The Disrupter-in-Chief
A political outsider. A man with a totally different view of how government should work. Someone who won’t tolerate laziness or political bias in the government workforce. And someone who ignore all the “accepted ways” that have gotten us into the situation we are today.
Here’s this author’s assessment:
I’m often asked why the Trump era is so messy, so acrimonious. One obvious (and well- analyzed) reason is the extreme disappointment — frustration — anger felt by the American Left, especially by those who readily identify with the “resistance.”
Indeed, the daily vitriol directed at the president is high octane, relentless. But the remainder of my answer is more rhetorical in nature: “What part of ‘disrupter’ did you expect to be pleasant?”
This response focuses on an often-neglected point: Disrupters are often uninvited, unappreciated guests. They have little respect for tradition. They revel in upsetting the apple cart, personal feelings be damned.
But it’s not just “feelings” in their crosshairs — it’s also assumptions and accepted premises, the traditional rules of the road valued by establishments everywhere.
And what has/does he disrupt?
NATO
Tariffs
North Korea
The FBI
Growth
And, unlisted by the author – Draining the swamp.

In Berkeley, Alt-Right Demonstrators, Protestors Clash
The demonstrations are no longer simple shouting matches. The loony Leftists are coming armed with some serious stuff to include explosives.
The 20 arrested were mostly taken in for possession of banned weapons in parks, on streets and sidewalks. [Leftists!]
Police also said extremists smashed 21 city vehicles, slashed vehicle tires and set one city vehicle on fire.

Jobs Boom Favors Democratic Counties, Not Trump Strongholds
The booming economy may not be the boon to the GOP as many think. According to this article, some of the hardest hit areas remain so in spite of the increases in jobs. And many are Democrat strongholds. So, how will the people in these areas vote in November?
Sixty percent of Americans told Pew that they see their midterm vote as an act of either supporting the president (26 percent) or opposing him (34 percent). That is the highest combined number since Pew began asking such a question in 2006.
And 68 percent said that control of Congress would influence how they vote, the highest level in two decades.

West Texas “Man Camps”
$36 per night w/free meals. A 700-square-foot apartment in Midland—the Permian’s unofficial capital—goes for $1,300 a month.
Three years ago, all 188 rooms were as empty as the landscape—a testament to crude’s tumble from more than $100 a barrel to $30. Today, prices are up around $70 and almost every Aries bed is occupied, just as at many other “man camps” throughout West Texas.
I didn’t see one word about “camp followers” or the RVs and travel trailers which we all know find places to set up. The workers may leave their families at home but there’s no way guys making $27.50 per hour plus other bennies is going live like a monk.

Unions Feel the Pain after SCOTUS Decision Stops the Flood of Cash
Ouch. How are union bigwigs going to continue to rake in their six-figure salaries and all those perks without the millions they’re losing?
The Wall Street Journal reported some rather staggering figures. Pennsylvania immediately stopped collecting from 24,000 employees, the 2017 equivalent of $6.6 million in dues. In New York, the total was 31,000 employees who contributed $9-10 million in 2017.
The Journal cited an estimate that New York state's public employee unions could lose $112 million when 200,000 employees forego agency fees.
But good old blue state Washington is trying to do its best to keep members from leaving the unions.

Florida Sheriff Sends Message to Al Sharpton: ‘Mind Your Own Business’
Good Lord above! Someone finally stands up to the tax-cheating slimeball.
Lock him (Drejka) up or turn in your badge,” Sharpton said in a direct challenge to Gualtieri.
Gualtieri fired back on Monday when asked about Sharpton’s comments.
It’s a bunch of rhetoric. I don’t pay much attention to it, to tell you the truth. I wasn’t there, and I don’t really care what Al Sharpton has to say,” Gualtieri said.
He then shared his message for Sharpton. “Go back to New York. Mind your own business,” he said.

What Voter Fraud?
670 Ballots Were Cast in Georgia Precinct with 270 Registered Voters
Fake news! Fake news! So screams the Left. Look at the source. Who can believe this blog? [They won’t check to see that it originally came from McClatchy @ https://www.mcclatchydc.com/news/politics-government/article216056560.html]
And on and on it goes.
Habersham County’s Mud Creek precinct in northeastern Georgia had 276 registered voters ahead of the state’s primary elections in May.
But 670 ballots were cast, according to the Georgia secretary of state’s office, indicating a 243 percent turnout.
The discrepancy, included in a number of sworn statements and exhibits filed as part of a federal lawsuit against the state by election security activists, comes amid swelling public concern for the security of Georgia’s voting systems. Georgia is one of four states that uses voting machines statewide that produce no paper record for voters to verify, making them difficult to audit, experts say.
Just doesn’t say which way the voting went.

National Economic Council Chairman Larry Kudlow: “I’m having so much fun with Trump”….
Those who have followed the granular details of the how President Trump put together his team -to carry out decades-long discussed policy- will find this interview interesting. Kudlow has evolved in the past year from a MAGAnomic supporter to a MAGAnomic advocate.

183 Women Running for the House, 11 for Governor Spots
Why are most of them running as DimocRATs?
The article only lists 28 of them so I have no idea who the others are.
Here's your proof that 2018 is the year of the woman: there are now at least 183 women nominees for U.S. House and 11 women nominees for governor — the highest in history, per the Center for American Women and Politics.

Trump to sign $716 billion defense policy bill at Fort Drum
It drives the Left nuts but he always manages to make a positive photo op of just about everything he does. But, it seems he was invited.
U.S. Rep. Elise M. Stefanik wrote Trump a letter in March inviting him to Fort Drum. She released a statement Tuesday afternoon when the visit was confirmed.
"I am honored that President Trump has accepted my invitation to visit Fort Drum and the brave men and women of the 10th Mountain Division on Monday," Stefanik said. "I am honored that the president will sign the historic National Defense Authorization Act in our district at Fort Drum. I am proud of the partnership with this administration to begin rebuilding our military and the president's visit is an important opportunity to highlight this achievement and to thank our men and women in uniform for their service."

LeBron James' School To Cost Taxpayers Significantly More Than He's Donating
Wow! He gives a whopping $2 million.
Only problem - However, the Daily Mail reports:
Once the school is established, it will cost the district approximately $8 million to run. The costs will mostly be covered by moving teachers, students and funds from other schools, according to the district.
Don’tcha just love the generosity of such super stars.

It Seems the Only Snakes Aren’t in Congress
The Washington Post reports the Georgetown Library closed Saturday after staff noticed snakes near a meeting room. Another snake was found earlier that day and released outside. The library called pest control and closed until the building was given the all-clear, reopening Tuesday.
Seems D.C. is currently all wet and serpents are seeking shelter.

The internet DARK AGES descends upon us
We spend so much time worrying about net neutrality that we either ignore or are unaware of this. The tyranny of social media giants.
Today, tech giants Google / YouTube, Apple, Spotify, Stitcher and Facebook all simultaneously blacklisted Alex Jones and InfoWars. This coordinated, illegal censorship is clear proof of an organized criminal racket being conducted by the tech giants. The RICO Act allows for federal prosecution of such criminal conspiracy.
The internet Dark Ages has now descended upon us, where radical left-wing tech giants run by deranged, mentally ill communists will decide whether your content qualifies as “hate speech.” What is hate speech? It’s anything uttered by a conservative.
