Federal Court Rules That Encouraging Illegal Immigration Is Protected in Constitution
What the hell!
The Ninth Circus Cast of Apparel has done it again.
The ruling generally says that telling an illegal to stay in the country is protected under the First Amendment of Free Speech.
I shake my head in wonderment. And the article says no word has come done as to whether DOJ will appeal the ruling to SCOTUS.
Those who choose to undermine our nation’s legal immigration system will be held accountable for their actions,” said Tatum King, deputy special agent in charge of Homeland Security Investigations in San Francisco. “We will continue to work tirelessly with our law enforcement counterparts to investigate criminals who have no regard for the law and often disrupt the lives of innocent victims.”

Shrillary Has a Big Case of Being Small
And the media made a big deal out of the Trumps and Clintons not shaking hands.
The Trumps shook hands with Barack and Michelle Obama but when First Lady Melania leaned forward to shake hands with and greet the Clintons, Hillary gave her the cold shoulder.
Hatred corrodes the container it’s carried in.”

Real Purpose of the Senate: To Check the Actions of the House
I am so glad this comes along now, a time when many conservative like me mourn the loss of the House to the DimocRATs. It gives one hope for the next 2 years that Pelosi and her coherts cannot undue what our president has done so far. And, even if by chance, something stupid does get through the Senate, we always have the president’s veto power.
What is important is not that the Senate served as an institutional representative of the several states in the federal government as a result of state selection and equal representation. Instead, it’s that a Senate so conceived would interact with, and counteract any unwise decisions by, the House. This, in turn, would help to control legislative majorities and frustrate presidential action. While the delegates did indeed disagree about how best to ensure that the Senate could check the House, all had this checking function in mind. It was crucial to establishing a new form of republican government that would be stable but flexible.
Taken separately, the House and Senate are imperfect institutions. But this is precisely the lesson that Madison and his fellow delegates took from Machiavelli. Taken together, the House and Senate are necessary ingredients for institutionalized conflict. They make possible a properly constrained Congress rooted in the consent of the governed.

41 Funeral Revealed Trump Not Part of ‘Presidents Club’
There are few things FoxNews’ Chris Wallace states that I agree with.
This is one of them.
We did not elect Donald J Trump to be a member of The Club. It was The Club that got us into the mess the president is trying very hard to get us out of.
Fox News anchor Chris Wallace said on Wednesday that the “chill” that “had descended on that front row” when President Donald Trump arrived at President George H.W. Bush’s funeral made it seem like Trump was not a member of the exclusive “presidents club.”

HW’s Finest 30 Seconds
It probably helped him defeat Dukakis. Of course, some called it racist.
Bovine excrement!

The Largest Political Party In America: The Silent Party
Wow! A whopping 48% of eligible voters cast their ballots in the midterms. {Not counting lost and uncounted ballots of course}
That means 52%, or over one half of eligible voters didn’t bother to get off their duffs and go to the polls?
Why?
Nobody they wanted to vote for? Disgusted with the endless bombardment of political ads? Belief that their votes wouldn’t be counted anyway?
Any guesses?
The American political will is duly portrayed by this one acknowledgement, the failure to vote. Whether it be due to disinterest, negligence or ignorance, silence is the largest political party in the nation. But silence does not just dwarf the Republican And Democrat parties, it often out-competes them altogether. So was the case this midterms, this first midterms ever to break 100 million votes cast.
If an empty ballot card actually counted towards something, then the country’s political representatives would be absentees. The Silent Party’s collective interest is to abstain from politics. If their will was taken into account, being the largest bloc of Americans, the entire country would then simply abstain from politics. No government, no taxes, no funding for social programs, no military, no laws and law enforcement, no public schools, no judge and jury.

Unhinged: Behar’s Vulgar, Off-Air Attack on Meghan McCain Could Finish Her on ‘The View’

I hope they keep the bitch. It means a whole lot of people will see the evil hatred spewing from her mouth five days a week. An expose of the putrid Left.
Her already-shaky reputation may take an even worse blow. While she may have been building an image the past few decades, one vulgar rant is often all it takes to end up on your fans’ bad side.
ABC execs might be tempted to take her up on that “quitting” business.

U.K. Assures Julian Assange Can Leave Embassy Safely
He’s been hiding out there for more than 6 years, hiding from a questionable charge from Sweden and sealed indictments from the US. Seems he hasn’t been a model inhabitant and it appears the embassy will be pleased to see him go.
Moreno said his government had received written assurances from the U.K. government not to extradite the Australian activist to any country where he would face the death penalty.
While the exact charges against Assange remain unclear, WikiLeaks has served as a vehicle for releasing of thousands of classified U.S. military and diplomatic cables. WikiLeaks’ role in releasing emails from the Democrat National Committee has also been under scrutiny as special counsel Robert Mueller investigates Russian interference in the 2016 election and whether the campaign of then-presidential candidate Donald Trump was involved.

Starving” Honduran migrant found pigging out in Dallas
This whole caravan thing is such a scam only brain dead Leftists and Progs buy into them. Here’s a perfect example of the lies being told about the members:
In November a Honduran national, “Lady Frijoles” upset her Mexican caretakers when she complained to reporters about the free beans and tortillas they were being given in Tijuana, Mexico, the Daily Caller reported. She said:
The food that they’re handing out here is terrible. Refried beans? As if they were feeding the pigs. If we don’t eat this, we will die of hunger.”
It turns out that she, Mirian Celaya, isn’t a “refugee” and lives comfortably in Honduras.
And she’s actually in Dallas, pigging out at a local restaurant with her sister.

Mexico’s new president plans to work with U.S., Canada for migration crackdown
OMLA, as he’s affectionately known, is far different from his predecessors. He looks at things through different eyes and appears to care deeply about the poor and downtrodden.
We hope companies and governments from the United States, Canada and Mexico can initiate a plan to push for development from south to north in Central America and North America to confront the migratory phenomenon,” stated the Mexican president.
I am concerns for his safety. He travels with 5 unarmed aids, believing the people will protect him. He’s turned the presidential palace into a place for the people to visit and will turn the area around it into a natural preserve. The presidential plane is already in Southern California waiting for a buyer.

Why you shouldn't exercise to lose weight
Having been overweight for decades, I also find my attention caught by subject lines like this. “Lose weight the easy way.” Or so it seems.
But, read on.
It goes ahead to list 10 explanations, which I’m not about to list here. But,l I will give you a couple.
3) Exercise alone is almost useless for weight loss
9) The government and the food industry are doling out unscientific advice
Well, actually there were only 10.
10) So what actually works for weight loss?
If you embark on a weight loss journey that involves both adding exercise and cutting calories, Montclair's Thomas warned not to count those calories burned in physical activity toward extra eating.
"Pretend you didn't exercise at all," she said. "You will most likely compensate anyway, so think of exercising just for health improvement but not for weight loss."

The Best Foods for Athletes
While we’re on the subject, the NYT gives us this sage bit of advice – that may or may not be true.
Q. With all the emerging science about nutrition and sports, what overall advice would you give a recreational athlete about how to eat?
A. Talk to a sports dietitian. I think many recreational athletes get caught up in trends and forget the basics. If you are an Olympic athlete, then, yes, the minutiae of your diet’s composition and timing are very consequential. The rest of us should concentrate on simple, healthy eating.
Read the whole thing @ https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/28/well/move/the-best-foods-for-athletes.html and figure it out for yourselves.

Dark chocolate is now a health food.
How many know where chocolate originated? And they certainly don’t know that it was actually tart, not sweet, before Europeans got hold of it.
So is chocolate good for your health? In a word: no.
And, way down th page after graphs and stuff, comes this:
Bigger, better studies may find that cocoa is in fact a health elixir, so we should keep doing them. “It’s important to understand whether something as simple and low-risk as increasing a nutrient in the diet could also have health benefits,” said JoAnn Manson, a Harvard nutrition researcher. “[Cocoa] has looked promising in small-scale randomized controlled trials and in observational studies, so it’s worth moving now to more conclusive and large-scale randomized controlled trials.”

In the Valley of Fear
I remember driving through the San Joaquin Valley at night because the temperature during the day was unbearable. Even then, I sped along with all the windows open and did my best to make it through without a rest stop.
As the article states, nothing on the radio but Spanish: ranchera music, boleros, corridos, ballads of spurned love, and the distinctive norteño sound—percussive, driving, no brass.
A place where life is, to say the least, miserable for the vast majority of people who live and toil there. Consider the following:
In response to the argument that immigrants steal jobs from Americans by undercutting their wages, the UFW set up a website offering citizens and legal residents agricultural jobs anywhere in the country through state employment services. This was in 2010, during the Great Recession. The website received about four million hits, out of which around 12,000 people filled out employment forms. Of these, a total of twelve citizens or legal residents actually showed up for work. Not one of them lasted longer than a day. According to a Los Angeles Times report, Silverado, a farm labor contractor in Napa, “has never had a white, American-born person take an entry-level gig, even after the company increased hourly wages to $4 above the minimum.” A wine grower in Stockton couldn’t lure unemployed citizens for $20 an hour.
And they all live in fear of la migra.
It’s a long article but well worth reading @ https://www.nybooks.com/articles/2018/12/20/in-the-valley-of-fear/

Meet the Godfather of Fake News
Bet you never heard of this guy. I sure hadn’t before reading the article.
And the article comes up with this:
The Birth of Fake News
Mid-2016
. A stream of made-up stories, many about U.S. politics, is spotted on Bizzfeed
. Many of the stories originate from Veles in Macedonia
. They trend on Facebook and other platforms – the creators earn advertising revenue
November 2016
. Donald Trump wins the US presidential election
. Google and Facebook pledge to stop advertising income for “fake news”
But, you can bet it’s still around and Blair and his buddies are still around.

The Definitive Guide to Tipping at Any Restaurant in America
My parents always tipped our servers and I remember how important they were when my mom worked at the Brown Derby Restaurant.
So, it caught me off guard when I went to France and discovered they included the tip in the tab. Leaving a tip was actuallt considered snobbish and even insulting.
So, just to give us a guidline, here are some supposed rules for tipping:
Sit-down restaurants: 20 percent — always.
If you go big on wines: You don’t need to tip 20 percent on whale bottles.
Gratuity-included restaurants: Don’t tip — really!
Food trucks: Add a buck or two.
Bars: Dollar per drink at dives, 20 percent at cocktail bars.
Bakeries and coffee shops: Add a buck or two.
Fast-casual counter service: 20 percent
Delivery: $5 minimum
I don’t know who this author is but I think she’s full of it. Top at a MacDonald’s? You gotta be kidding me.
And, first and foremost, a gratuity is to show ones appreciation for good service. I never hesitate a second to stiff a server who should be shoveling manure instead of bringing food to my table.

What A Great Idea for Your Shower
I would give anything to have one in my home. As it is, the one I have is plastic and the temperature control keeps breaking. It’s set at one temp and I can’t change it.

Saint Jude’s Children Hospital Receives $50 Million Donation
I remember Danny Thomas, the comedian, seeking contributions for the hospital and always felt it was one of the most deserving charity of all. So glad to hear the kids will be having such good stuff while they’re there.
The money will be used to support the construction of a new Family Commons on the St. Jude campus. It will be a treatment-free floor that gives families a space to relax and recover, while staying close to their loved ones who are being treated.
The design will include:
A new preschool program with expanded resources for patients and family members, allowing them to accelerate their learning at an early age and keep pace with their peers back home;
An open play area including an outdoor patio, living room area and 19 custom-built resting nooks that offer privacy and lounge space;
A private area offering coffee, snacks and a general store for patient families to reconnect and recharge;
Centralized patient and concierge services to meet the various unique needs of families including housing, transportation, food and care coordination, allowing parents to focus on their child’s care; and
A Parent Share Area for families to get non-clinical answers from other St. Jude parents.
"Families need to be able to take a break during one of the most difficult times of their lives, and that’s why we’re committing to create spaces — both indoor and outdoor — for families to be together," said Laura Schumacher, executive vice president, external affairs, general counsel and corporate secretary at AbbVie. "As a company committed to helping families thrive, we stand behind St. Jude, a global leader in the fight against childhood cancer."
I’ve never heard of AbbVie and am surprised to see they’ve given $350 million in charitable donations in 2018.

A Brain Surgeon’s Way to Prevent Alzheimer’s
The one thing not mentioned in this piece is keeping mentally active all the time. Any and everything to keep the brain working.
Despite the investment of hundreds of millions of dollars over the past several decades on the part of pharmaceutical companies, we still don’t have any meaningful treatment for Alzheimer’s disease. In fact, in a recent extensive study just published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, the two most commonly prescribed medications for Alzheimer’s disease not only don’t work, but actually may worsen brain function.
Did you get that? All the money being wasted to pay for drugs that don’t work!
Higher levels of physical exercise translate into lower risk for Alzheimer’s disease, and Parkinson’s disease as well. Even having good levels of vitamin D seems to be associated with a significantly reduced risk for Alzheimer’s disease.
And he adds this:
Eating few carbs, lots of healthy fat. Our dietary choices are hugely influential in our overall health, and perhaps nowhere else is this as evident as it relates to brain health. I limit my net carbs to around 30 to 50 g a day, and add in a lot of terrific fat in the form of extra virgin olive oil, nuts and seeds, and wild fish. I also supplement with the omega-3, DHA, 1000mg each day, as well as MCT oil, 1-2 tablespoons daily. This diet, along with the MCT oil, helps to create ketones, a specific type of fat that’s extremely beneficial for brain function and protection.
Supplementing here and there. Other supplements supported by good science include vitamin D, whole coffee fruit concentrate, turmeric, a good probiotic, and B complex.
Working out daily. Sure, we know that exercise is good for us and generally makes us feel good, but the extensive literature relating to higher levels of exercise to reduce risk of Alzheimer’s disease makes it clear that this is a lifestyle choice too good to turn down. So, I do at least 30 minutes of aerobic activity every day, including running, using an elliptical machine, or biking. Resistance training is also very important, and while I do favor free weights, I certainly spend plenty of time using machines as well. Finally, although I can’t specifically relate stretching to directly reducing Alzheimer’s risk, stretching can help reduce your risk of injury and therefore will help prevent you from getting sidetracked from your exercise program.
