Interesting News and Stuff for July 31, 2018

Rep Nunes Urging Trump to Declassify 20 Pages in FISA Warrant Signed by Rosenstein
I simply do not why the president does not. And why he doesn’t demand the release of other documents Congress wants to do their job of oversight.
The FISA warrant obtained by the FBI to spy on Trump campaign volunteer Carter Page has finally been released to the public, but it's so heavily redacted, it's meaningless -- and can be misrepresented by Democrats -- unless President Trump agrees to declassify it, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), chairman of the House intelligence committee, told "Sunday Morning Futures" with Maria Bartiromo.

Republicans Prepare to Pour Millions Into California Congressional Races
About time!
Democrats have targeted seven key districts in the Golden State where Hillary Clinton won in 2016 and a Republican currently holds the congressional seat.
We have the resources to protect and strengthen our Republican majorities in Congress,” Ronna McDaniel, chairwoman of the Republican National Committee (RNC), reportedly said in a statement. She expressed her confidence and belief in the GOP’s effort to “elect more Republicans so President Trump can continue to deliver for the American people.”
Several days after the Democrats announced that they had out-raised Republicans in 10 of California’s 14 Republican-held congressional districts, President Donald Trump and the RNC announced that they are sending money — $8 million — from his 2020 re-election campaign to nearly 100 Republican congressional and Senate candidates.

Think Your Absentee Ballot Doesn’t Matter? Here’s Proof It Does
I voted absentee lots of times during my time in the service and never once thought it was wasted. Not once. So, if for some reason you know you can’t go to the bolls on election day, here’s what you need to do:
Step 1: Get registered and request your ballot
Step 2: Receive, fill out, and send back your ballot
How do you know your vote got counted, though?
One of the prime reasons why deployed service members fail to exercise their voting rights is they assume that absentee ballots get delayed, lost, or “forgotten” somewhere along the way. Thankfully, we’re in the 21st century now, so it’s pretty easy to see if your ballot made it into the tally: You can check the status of your ballot after sending it back.
How long do I have to do all this?
And then there’s this:
The Federal Voting Assistance Program works to ensure Service members, their eligible family members and overseas citizens are aware of their right to vote and have the tools and resources to successfully do so — from anywhere in the world. FVAP assists voters through partnerships with the Military Services, Department of State, Department of Justice and election officials from 50 States, U.S. territories and the District of Columbia. Socialism kills and destroys
https://babalublog.com/wpr/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/cyle-of-socialism-e1532872967936.png
and you shouldn’t be offended when you’re reminded of that
And it always, always ends up being led by brutal, murdering dictators. So remember that when contemplating the current Socialist Democrat movement. They want to start out with government ruling you to be followed by a dictator.
Socialism has a long, dark history of death and destruction. Because of socialism, over 100-million lives have been extinguished and billions more have been enslaved. Yet there are people who get offended when you remind them of the death and misery socialism has inflicted upon our world.
If there is anything insulting about reminding people of the evils of socialism, it is those who despite its bloody and sinister history, continue to defend and promote this vile ideology as a viable and perfectly acceptable alternative to freedom.

CNN’s Acosta Set to Lose His White House Press Credentials
The Leftist media will scream that it’s an attack on Freedom of the Press. Those with sanity will utter sighs of relief.
But for now, Acosta’s childish actions have pushed President Trump to set his sights set on banning him from press events, perhaps permanently. And if Collins being banned is any indication, Trump may just get his way after all.

Ecuador, Britain in talks over Assange fate: Ecuadorian president
Word has it that he’s having severe medical problems.
[President] Moreno, who visited Spain and Britain last week, said the "ideal" solution would involve Assange accepting a "penalty" for having breached British bail conditions and then be "extradited to a country where he does not face any danger."
In other words, the Brits fine him and let him fly to Ecuador which has no extradition w/Sweden or the USA.

Homeless Man Hands Out Resumes, Gets More than 200 Job Offers
KRON reported that Casarez graduated from Texas A&M University in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems and worked for General Motors in Texas before striking out on his own in September 2017 to pursue his dream of building a startup in Silicon Valley.
He struck out, ran out of money, slept in his car until it was repossessed, and ended up on a park bench.

VA whistleblowers disciplined 10 times more than peers; managers investigate themselves
No matter how hard the president tries, overcoming the ingrained mismanagement of a massive bureaucracy appears to be almost impossible. The greatest source for uncovering graft, misuse, and mismanagement are whistle-blowers – who are supposed to be protected by the law. Apparently that doesn’t work so well in the VA.
One sentence leaps from the GAO's findings — "Whistleblowers were 10 times more likely than their peers to receive disciplinary action within a year of reporting misconduct."
Another disturbing finding — the GAO "found instances where managers investigated themselves for misconduct, presenting a conflict of interest."
VA has a policy against such a clearly flawed practice but does not have appropriate oversight measures to ensure the policy is enforced.

Van driver fired after being caught splashing pedestrians
With a big smile and chuckling, I have to admit something. When I drove the city bus here in Las Vegas, I could hardly wait for it to rain. With nowhere else to go at the time, the gutters would overflow and there was nothing more fun than having that big bus going through puddles at 45mph. Massive waves! So, I truly feel sorry for the driver of this van. He was just having a little fun like anyone else would.
Hell when you get caught.

Iraq's Christians Refuse to Return, Afraid 'They Will Again Be Targeted'
This should not surprise anyone. Although they’ve lived there for centuries, Muslims have always demanded they convert or face the penalties for being unbelievers. But, where else can they go to? It appears the western world only wants to accept Muslim “refugees” and not Christians.
Tens of thousands of displaced Christians have returned to their cities and villages in the Iraq's Nineveh Plain, but many still refuse to return to Mosul.
Before ISIS moved in, 30,000 Christians lived in Iraq's second largest city. Today, maybe no more than several hundred have returned.
"People are afraid and it's understandable that they are afraid, but they are afraid because the (jihadi) networks are still there on the ground—especially in Mosul," explained investigative journalist and author Ken Timmerman.
He understands all too well what many Iraqi Christians are up against.

Starving Polar Bear Nat Geo Video/Photo Was Phony
I never was suckered by the bleeding heart story that went along with this. Sometimes animals naturally become ill and are unable to go on living. I felt this was just another stupid attempt to create something about Globull Warming.
"Photographer Paul Nicklen and I are on a mission to capture images that communicate the urgency of climate change. Documenting its effects on wildlife hasn’t been easy," she wrote. "With this image, we thought we had found a way to help people imagine what the future of climate change might look like. We were, perhaps, naive. The picture went viral — and people took it literally."
Perhaps people took the gloom-and-doom climate change narrative "literally" because Nat Geo's first line of the video was, "This is what climate change looks like." To boot, the words "climate change" were even emphasized, highlighted in the magazine's signature yellow.
"In retrospect, National Geographic went too far with the caption," says Mittermeier. (You think?!)

Some Neat Stuff for July 29, 2018

Mark Zuckerberg Gets $10 Million a Year in Taxpayer Subsidies for Personal Security
A man estimated to be worth $70.6 BILLION lives behind walls.
But even a man who lives behind guarded walls has to get out among the people sometimes. However, when he does, he is well guarded by a phalanx of security personnel subsidized by the people he is trying to keep at bay. The cost for protecting Zuckerberg and his family, $27,000 a day, is subsidized by a $10 million annual pre-tax allowance that enables him to delay (or perhaps avoid altogether in the long run) paying taxes on that money.
Leftists are so hypocritical. They rail against guns and then are surrounded by phalanxes of armed security personnel.

California’s Straw Ban Based on Research Done by a 9 Year Old

Nancy Pelosi Makes Fool of Herself in Presser; Bungles 20 Words
As much as I abhor her, this is painful to watch.
And then she comes up with this:
WOW! Pelosi Says Democrats Have Been Strong on Borders “All of Our Borders”

30 Hours at Trump-Speed…
I was going to try to encapsulate this but it was so good I have no choice but to share all of it with you.
1. President Trump dropped a MOAB on the state of Georgia for Brian Kemp, and wiped the floor with the establishment GOPe, winning by 39 points.
2. President Travels to Kansas City, giving the speech which made us all cry, to the VFW. Embraces a 94 year old Sergeant and we immediately fall in love.
3. Our sheer perfection of a FLOTUS stops in Nashville at a children’s hospital. On the way back CNN reporter asks Stephanie Grisham about the Cohen tapes and tries to take a hit on Melania. Stephanie Grisham came UNDONE and wiped the floor with the little witch.
4. VP Pence in Montana, stops what he is doing, leaves his Secret Service, when a boy waiting to see him on the tarmac passes out. VP Pence was “up and in the middle” of the problem. Good man.
5. CRTV does a parody video about Alexandria Cortez and the left reveals —- they have no sense of humor. Busted.
6. President Trump meets with John-Claude Juncker, President of the EU Commission and makes the deal of a lifetime on tariffs, LNG sales to Europe, and soybeans for the Midwest.
7. DOW spikes 170 points in an hour on news of the trade deal. Business channels who support multinationals are in melt-down… because they’ve been hyping a trade war for 6 months.
8. Facebook earnings post, stock loses 24% of market cap in an hour. That’s what happens when you put Ellen Stover and our friends in Facebook jail. Payback is hell.
9. Secretary Pompeo testifies to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and I swear, it’s probably the best 3 hours of footage, EVER. He was brilliant.
************
At one point, Pompeo asked if he could be allowed to submit, for the record, the list of all the things Trump Admin has done to be ‘tough’ on the Russians.
Turd of a Senator agrees.
Pompeo says, “Well then, let’s back the truck up to deliver (his list).”
************
OMG….. Killed it.
10. CNN releases recorded tape of Michael Cohen and President Trump—- and it’s a dud. We learned President Trump says “thank you” when he asks for a Coke.
11. CNN reporter refuses to leave the Oval Office during Juncker presser and is pushed out and reprimanded by Bill Shine (new WH Press Coordinator) and Sarah Sanders. She keeps asking questions about the Cohen tape when Juncker and Trump are in the midst of a trillion dollar trade deal. WH tells her she is not allowed into the next Rose Garden event, and she gets snippy, saying, “I wasn’t planning on attending anyway”.
White House Press Corps has a meltdown. CNN issues statement saying “We demand better” and gets hammered on social media.
12. Ben Sasse, who was censured by his own Nebraska GOP party by a vote of 400 to 8 said yesterday, “Trump’s trade policies are ‘Making America 1929 Again’” in an attempt to undermine the President ahead of the Junker negotiations.
This afternoon…. Sasse announced he will not run for reelection in 2020. Bwwwhhahaaaaa.
13. News from China senses discord among the ruling class. China is now lowering interest rates, subsidizing industry, and their economy is flat. Did I mention their stock market is down about 25% this year?
14. And finally, 11 member of the House file impeachment papers against Rosenstein. The vote will probably not ever happen…… but it sure does piss off Rosenstein. It tastes sweet.
15. And for the Bonus: Trump has learned how to ‘thread’ multiple tweets on Twitter. May God have mercy upon his enemies.
Can’t wait until tomorrow……..
Remember, he was in Helsinki, just 8 days ago.

United Nations is running low on dough; asks members to pay up
Since the US is no longer paying billions into that screwed up body, it appears to be hurting. How many think this plea will be responded to?

Which College Degrees Get The Highest Salaries?
There’s an interesting list of the top 20 and I swell with pride that my step-granddaughter has not only been the first in her family to go to college but is studying civil engineering, #12 on the list.
The top earning specialization out of college is for Physician Assistants, with a median starting salary of $74,300. The downside of this degree is that earning potential levels out quickly, only showing a 23.4% increase in earning power 10 years in.
In contrast, the biggest increases in earning power go to Math, Philosophy, Economics, Marketing, Physics, Political Science, and International Relations majors. All these degrees see a 90% or higher increase from median starting salary to median mid-career salary.

Companies that have more money than entire countries
Care to guess which ones they are?
WALMART = US retailer Walmart, with revenue of $486 billion in 2017, out-earned the sixth-largest economy in the euro zone – Belgium (with GDP of $468 billion). If it were a country, Walmart would be ranked 24th in the world by GDP.
VOLKSWAGEN = Revenues of German automaker Volkswagen are greater than Chile’s GDP. The company, which has been hit by the ‘Dieselgate’ scandal, earned $276 billion last year. Chile’s GDP in 2016 was $250 billion, and it is considered by many to be the most stable nation in South America, ahead of other nations such as Argentina, Brazil, and Colombia. Volkswagen would be number 43 in the world if its revenue represented its GDP.
APPLE = US technology giant Apple would be 47th in the world by GDP if it were a country. The company, which has been accused of mistreating and underpaying their employees, hiding money offshore, and not paying taxes, earned $229 billion last year. In comparison, Portugal’s GDP in 2016 was $205 billion.
AMAZON = Online retailer Amazon, which is close to surpassing Apple as the world’s most valuable company, earned almost $118 billion in 2017. Its revenue exceeded the GDP of Kuwait ($111 billion). Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has recently become the richest man in modern history, with his wealth topping $150 billion this month.
ALPHABET = Google’s parent company, Alphabet, earned more last year than Puerto Rico, which has a GDP of $105 billion. Alphabet revenues in 2017 totaled $111 billion. Going off its revenues, the company would be 59th in the world by GDP if it were a country.
Before you Leftists start creaming, remember it’s PEOPLE who place their savings in the stocks of these companies. Many depend on them for their retirement.

Parking Has Eaten American Cities
Think about it. Look around you. How much of your home’s area is designed for vehicles? And roads are wider. Why?
Joni Mitchell famously sang: “They paved paradise and put up a parking lot.” It’s time we reclaim our cities from car storage and use the space for what we need more of, from housing and bike lanes to sidewalk cafes and parks.
The article gives specifics about various cities. It would be interesting to see an estimate of how much of our national acreage is made up of spaces to park vehicles.

Why Do Humans Have Different Blood Types?
We take it for granted. How many of us have ever asked this question?
Although a concrete reason for the existence of ABO genes that determine blood types is not known, even after a hundred years of discovery, scientists believe that there must be an evolutionary advantage. Interestingly, in 1952 Bombay, doctors reported people that had none of the recognizable blood types normally found in humans. This phenomenon could mean that there is no evolutionary advantage after all, but these are very rare. Claims have been made that people from group A have the worst hangovers and group O have the best teeth, for example, but these associations are probably coincidental at best.

The highest-calorie restaurant meals in America
How many will run right out and order one of these?
This (left) is the 2,510-calorie Honey-Chipotle Crispers & Waffles from Chili's. To come close to matching it in calories and fat and sodium, you would have to eat five Krispy Kreme glazed donuts with 30 McDonald's Chicken McNuggets and five packets of barbecue sauce (right)
This (left) is the 2,040-calorie Vampire Taco Combo at Yard House. The meal is equivalent to nine Taco Bell beef tacos and three cans of Budweiser (right)

News That's Hard to Find for July 27, 2018

61 Seats the GOP Must Hold to Maintain a Majority in the House of Representatives
Here is the math:
Republicans currently have 154 safe seats. Adding 61 holds and 3 flips from the Democrats to those safe seats will result in 218 Republican seats in the 116th Congress.
The Democrats currently have 181 safe seats. Adding 11 holds and 25 flips from Republicans to those safe seats will result in 217 Democrat seats in the 116th Congress.
The article then goes on with a lengthy district-by-district assessment. There’s one thing the article fails to consider – the current attempt by leftist Dims to destroy themselves and their party – and the possibility that President Trump is going to force usually self-destructive GOPers to actually get out and campaign.

Trump’s EPA Outpaces Obama in Cleaning Up Hazardous Waste Sites
The eco-freaks will go gaga over this. It’s not possible! Trump’s evil EPA is doing everything possible to swamp this country in toxic waste.
Since Trump took office in January 2017, EPA officials have cleaned up all or part of 13 listed sites, compared with nine sites cleaned up by the Obama administration in 2015 and 2016.
A total of 1,345 sites remain on the Superfund list, according to the EPA.

The Experts Have Been Wrong About Lots of Things. Here’s a Sampling.
I love stuff like this. Tweaking “the experts” is amazingly fun. Check these out:
People whom we’ve trusted as experts have often been wrong beyond imagination, and it’s nothing new. Irving Fisher, a distinguished Yale University economics professor in 1929, predicted, “Stock prices have reached what looks like a permanently high plateau.” Three days later, the stock market crashed.
In 1945, regarding money spent on the Manhattan Project, Adm. William Leahy told President Harry S. Truman, “That is the biggest fool thing we have ever done. The [atomic] bomb will never go off, and I speak as an expert in explosives.”
In 1903, the president of the Michigan Savings Bank, advising Henry Ford’s lawyer not to invest in Ford Motor Co., said, “The horse is here to stay, but the automobile is only a novelty—a fad.” Confidence in the staying power of the horse was displayed by a 1916 comment of the aide-de-camp to Field Marshal Douglas Haig at a tank demonstration: “The idea that cavalry will be replaced by these iron coaches is absurd. It is little short of treasonous.”
Albert Einstein predicted: “There is not the slightest indication that nuclear energy will ever be obtainable. It would mean that the atom would have to be shattered at will.” In 1899, Charles H. Duell, the U.S. commissioner of patents, said, “Everything that can be invented has been invented.” Listening to its experts in 1936, The New York Times predicted, “A rocket will never be able to leave the Earth’s atmosphere.”
To prove that it’s not just academics, professionals, and businesspeople who make harebrained predictions, Hall of Fame baseball player Tris Speaker’s 1919 advice about Babe Ruth was, “Taking the best left-handed pitcher in baseball and converting him into a right fielder is one of the dumbest things I ever heard.” For those of us not familiar with baseball, Babe Ruth was one of the greatest outfielders who ever played the game.
The world’s greatest geniuses are by no means exempt from out-and-out nonsense. Sir Isaac Newton (1642-1727) was probably the greatest scientist of all time. He laid the foundation for classical mechanics; his genius transformed our understanding of physics, mathematics, and astronomy.
What’s not widely known is that Newton spent most of his waking hours on alchemy. Some of his crackpot experiments included trying to turn lead into gold. He wrote volumes on alchemy, but after his death, Britain’s Royal Society deemed that they were “not fit to be printed.”
Then there’s mathematical physicist and engineer Lord Kelvin (1824-1907), whose major contribution was in thermodynamics. Kelvin is widely recognized for determining the correct value of absolute zero, approximately minus 273.15 degrees Celsius or minus 459.67 degrees Fahrenheit. In honor of his achievement, extremely high and extremely low temperatures are expressed in units called kelvins.
To prove that one can be a genius in one area and an idiot in another, Kelvin challenged geologists by saying that Earth is between 20 million and 100 million years old. Kelvin predicted, “X-rays will prove to be a hoax.” And he told us, “I can state flatly that heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible.”
The point of all this is to say that we can listen to experts but take what they predict with a grain or two of salt.

5 Ways Uncle Sam Could Ruin Your Summer Road Trip
All set for that fun summer trip? Off to see wondrous and beautiful parts of America. But, just beware of some deep pitfalls.
If you’re planning a wholesome cross-country adventure, beware: Uncle Sam has over-packed the federal code with more criminal laws and regulations than anyone can count. Here are a few ways that excess legal baggage could ruin a road trip.
1. Peanut Smuggling
2. Littering Laws
3. Bug Swatting [One has to shake one’s head over this one]
4. An End to Bickering
5. Toy Troubles [Huh?]

Feds Can't Keep Track of Your Tax Dollars - The Error Rates Are Staggering
Hell, nobody can even tell us how many different entities there are in the Executive Branch. How can they tell us how, when, and where the money is being spent?
Under the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act (DATA), agencies are required by law to submit their spending records to USAspending.gov.
However, a review of just 25 of the 96 federal agencies shows more than half of the information submitted, 55 percent, was either incomplete, inaccurate or both.
That adds up to $240 billion of government spending unaccounted for.

The Speaker hasn’t acted on it yet so it doesn’t have an H.R. number so I can’t find it on https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/ But I will keep an eye on it to see just what happens.
"Multiple times we’ve caught DOJ officials hiding information from Congress, withholding relevant documents, or even outright ignoring Congressional subpoenas—and now we have evidence that Mr. Rosenstein signed off on a document using unverified political opposition research as a cornerstone of a FISA application to spy on an American citizen working for the Trump campaign," Meadows' statement continued.
Congressional August “vacation” to start Friday (July 27) and they won’t come back until September. Wouldn’t it be great to have a work schedule like they do?

These are Occupy ICE Protesters
I don’t need to comment on this.
These champions of the Left must have done a poor job because they left a mess so large that the city had to hire private contractors to clean up it up. Videos of the encampment show garbage, large structures, mattresses, clothing, and portable toilets.
The mess has even raised safety and biohazard concerns.

Obama Knowingly Funded Designated Al-Qaeda Affiliate
We’re learning more and more about the Kenyan Muslim every day. When are Americans going to awaken to what this man has done to this country?
A new report released on Wednesday revealed that the Obama administration knowingly provided an Islamic terrorist-financing organization with hundreds of thousands of dollars despite the fact that the group had been designated as a terrorist-financing organization for a decade by the U.S. government.
Obama officials approved the release of well over $100,000 even after they were informed that the Khartoum-based Islamic Relief Agency (ISRA) was affiliated with Osama bin Laden and Maktab al-Khidamat (MK), which eventually became al-Qaeda.
ISRA, also referred to as the Islamic African Relief Agency (IARA), received a $200,000 taxpayer-funded grant from the Obama administration, which released at least $115,000 to the terrorist-financing organization. National Review reports:

ICE is cracking down on employers of illegal aliens… for real
About damned time! The best and fastest way of stopping illegal immigration is to ensure they know they will not be welcomed here. No welfare and no jobs. And a lot will return home.
If you’re an employer who is in the habit of looking the other way when a job applicant can’t prove they are in the country legally, there’s a good chance that you received an unexpected visit from ICE over the past few months. In a recent press release from the agency, we learned that the second phase of a nationwide operation cracking down on employers of illegal aliens just concluded. ICE examined the records of more than 5,000 employers and wound up making a number of arrests. (ICE.gov)
Do you know someone who’s hiring illegals. Give ICE a call and see if they’ll do something about it.
And yes, it IS “illegal” and NOT “undocumented” as per the Department of Justice.

Toronto shooting rampage – new details emerge about jihadi Faisal Hussain
Before I even heard his name, I knew this was a Muslim jihadist attack that the Canadians tried to hush up.
TORONTO — Canadian investigators were digging Tuesday into the life of the 29-year-old man who opened fire on restaurants and cafes in a popular Toronto neighborhood, seeking to explain what prompted the rampage that killed a 10-year-old girl and a young woman and wounded 13 others. Investigators in Canada have indications that Faisal Hussain visited Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) websites and may have expressed support for the terrorist group, a law enforcement source told CBS News senior investigative producer Pat Milton.
Investigators are looking into whether Hussain may have lived at one time in Afghanistan and possibly Pakistan, the source said. There is no indication that Hussain was directed by ISIS to carry out the attack.
