News and Interesting Stuff for November 29, 2018

Senate Majority Leader McConnell details agenda for rest of year
McConnel is upbeat but, as usual Speaker Ryan is mouthing off without really talking about accomplishing much in the House.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell recently outlined his priorities for the remainder of the year. In a series of tweets Wednesday, McConnell said the upper chamber is focused on getting more of the president’s team in place, confirming judicial nominees and dealing with other legislative business.
He also slammed Democrats by claiming they have made the chamber drag its feet, but promised to do what he can to close out the 115th Congress in a strong way.
The Senate is focused on wrapping up this year’s remaining priorities: getting more of the president’s team in place, confirming well-qualified nominees to our federal courts, and attending to the pressing legislative business the American people expect us to handle.

State Dept. Hires Nasty #NeverTrump Hack Mary Kissel Who Regularly Trashes Trump as Top Adviser
What the hell is Pompeo thinking?
A long strings of attacks at the president are @ https://www.dailywire.com/news/38770/state-department-hires-anti-trump-columnist-who-ryan-saavedra and they get pretty nasty.
Will this be allowed to stand?
Mary Kissel from The Wall Street Journal is one of those nasty and predictable #NeverTrump hacks on TV today. She’s so bitter and angry that your tend to mute your TV when you see her pop up on a discussion panel.
But that didn’t stop the U.S. State Department from hiring the anti-Trump hack to be Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s new senior adviser for policy and strategic messaging.

Meanest Things the Mainstream Media Are Saying About Melania’s Christmas Decorations
As far as what I’ve seen, they are gorgeous. She clearly worked hard to make them inviting and worth a lot of oohs and aahs.
Keep in mind that some comments are so vile they’re unprintable.
People went after Melania last year, too, of course — but few ever treated Michelle Obama or other first ladies this way. As one reader noted, “Melania gets sharp criticism for everything she does. It’s just plain wrong to attack everything she does. Nothing wrong with white Christmas trees [from last year] or red ones either. People need to worry about other things beside Christmas trees. Isn’t that obvious?”
I won’t list the comments included in this article because most are disgusting and clearly from little children jealous over someone with class.

Obama Used Tear Gas At Least 80 Times at Border
Where was the media then

The Caravan is Straining our Resources in…
Actually it’s not the ones in Tijuana who’ve filled everywhere with urine, feces, and trash but McAllen, Texas.
Between now and Sept. 28, 2019, the Border Patrol will be renting at least 34 portable toilets and seven hand-washing stations to be used by as many as 1,500 detainees, according to a contract extension logged in a federal database. The total expenditure, which includes new costs to “add additional equipment,” is listed at $959,198.48.
Last year’s toilet-and-sink rental, for the same amount of time and in the same location, came to $730,328.28.
And none of that covers the food they consume and where they sleep.

Jorge Ramos: US Has Responsibility to ‘Absorb’ Caravan Migrants
For those of you who don’t know who this guy is, he’s a Mexican who came here on a work visa to work for UNIVISION and has slammed everything about this country every since. His net worth is estimated at $12 million and he lives in Coconut Grove, FL.
So, it’s okay for him to tell us what we’re supposed to do about the caravan members?
It’s not an invasion. The U.S. can easily absorb these refugees without significant economic consequences. Many countries in the world help the 65 M people who are displaced,” Ramos claimed in an Instagram post. “And the most powerful nation in history also has responsibilities. We simply have to do our share.”
And
On Monday, San Diego Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott also noted that “the vast majority of those, from what we call the northern triangle, they are economic migrants.”
They don’t meet the qualifications to get asylum here,” Scott said.

Between 6,000 and 10,000 churches in the U.S. are dying each year”
Is this good or bad?
Today, nearly four in ten (39%) young adults (ages 18-29) are religiously unaffiliated—three times the unaffiliated rate (13%) among seniors (ages 65 and older). While previous generations were also more likely to be religiously unaffiliated in their twenties, young adults today are nearly four times as likely as young adults a generation ago to identify as religiously unaffiliated. In 1986, for example, only 10% of young adults claimed no religious affiliation.
And it’s even worse in Europe where many empty churches are being converted to Muslim mosques.
At one time, churches provided a loci of social belonging as much as a religious base. Now, as many young people are losing the agenda of close, personal, face-to-face relatonships, such social gatherings no longer meet their personal goals.

Russia to invest $4 billion to build Arctic port along Northern Sea Route
That’s a whole lot of money even though it’ll be a combination of government and private funds.
And, who in the world has ever heard of this place?
I can’t find anything about who lives there but have found hints that it’s supposed to become an important port for coal exports from that part of Russia.
The project has reportedly been included in Moscow’s list of major investment projects on transport and infrastructure development. The new port, which will be located in the small Nenets settlement of Indiga, will be operated year-round.
The annual cargo turnover is set to reach 70 million tons, 50 million tons of which will account for coal shipments, extracted from Russia’s biggest coal mining area in the Kuznetsk Basin, located in southwestern Siberia.

SCOTUS Overrules Federal Fish and Wildlife Service Over Non-existant Frog
The feds came in and took 1,500 acres of private land, supposedly to protect The Mississippi Gopher Frog that had not been seen there for more than half a century.
In a unanimous decision, the High Court agreed that the Fish and Wildlife Service could not designate our clients’ property critical habitat unless it showed the property was in fact habitat, which it has yet to do. Further, the Court rejected the agency’s position that its decision was not reviewable by judges. The decision opens the courthouse doors to land owners like Edward Poitevent, who stand up to the federal government when it overreaches.
Now, will the family ever get back the money they lost because of timbering being shut down and what they had to pay in legal fees?
Probably not.

U.S. Army to purchase .50 caliber long-range sniper rifles
1,800 meter range with a 10 round clip. Been in use since 1989. I guess the Army’s happy with its effectivity and lasting power. The contract is only worth a mere $7.9 million, peanuts by DOD standards.

President Trump Wants to Remove all Troops from Afghanistan by 2020
Damn! That sounds like an awesome idea. Just hope to hell it’s not telling our goals to our enemies like Obama did.
Zalmay Khalilzad, the U.S. special envoy to Afghanistan, is attempting to accelerate peace negotiations with the Taliban because top government officials believe Trump will soon end the U.S. military’s role there, according to NBC, which cited unnamed current and former U.S. officials.
There can be no question but that the Taliban are conquering large areas of the country in spite of the presence of so many US and coalition troops.
The downsize of our withdrawal is a return to the status as it was before we sent troops in. The upside is getting our toops out of there.
Afghanistant will quickly lower iself to a Muslim dominated third world shit hole – again.
If we pull out, will be bring out all that equipment and supplies. Or leave it behind.

Navy hospital ship ‘Comfort’ treats Venezuelan migrants in Colombia
Colombia, Guyana, and Brazil are almost overwhelmed with those fleeing the socialist disaster in their homeland.
The efforts are part of an 11-week humanitarian mission, with more stops planned in neighboring countries.
I think it’s people taking care of people. I’m a father, so I know if someone takes care of my wife or daughter I’m willing to (say) ‘hey, let’s make an impact.’ And I’ll tell you…I’ve been in command here for 18 months and I’ve had all but a dozen people come up to me, either civilian or now in the military, that said that either the Comfort or our sister ship, the Mercy, came to my country when I was 5 or 6 years of age and they came to America, because they wanted to be a part of a country that does great things like this.” — Kevin Buckley, Commanding Officer – USNS Comfort
Colombia currently hosts one million refugees, and the government said it could be hosting four million by 2021.
