Rosenstein Can’t Sign FISA Warrants
According to Joseph diGenova, a former U.S. attorney under President Ronald Reagan, the number two man at DOJ is under an internal investigation and is forbidden from handling FISA warrants.
DiGenova said Rosenstein never even read it but relied on others to tell him what’s in it.
In many ways, that was the moment that led to the Mueller investigation and the huge mess in the Justice Department right now.
He should be ashamed of himself,” he said of Rosenstein, adding that there may be some measure of justice after all as lawmakers push for his impeachment.
He’s getting precisely what he deserves,” diGenova said.
Of course, there’s no response from DOJ on this. And no info on who’s conducting the internal investigation.

The Thrill Is Gone: Only 750 Turn Out to See Former President Obama in Far-Left California
Only 750? At the Anaheim Convention Center. Seems like something Shrillary would have.
Anyone seen this reported in the LSM?

Why Trump's Record Trumps the Media's Spin
CNN blares from airport televisions and nobody pays attention.
Outside of D.C., the NYT Op-ed gets zero chat. Nada.
And who on earth is talking about the Kavanaugh hearings other than to laugh at DimocRAT antics?
They have largely succeeded in this goal, but in so doing, failed again to learn the lesson that was so easy to conclude from the 2016 election and Trump’s steady popularity levels since then. That lesson is that the media and the commentariat no longer determine public opinion.
No matter how many outraged opinion pieces or news articles (but I repeat myself) the New York Times produces, no matter how many smarter-than-thou analysts with non-prescription eyeglasses mope about sadly on CNN, no matter how many Obama fan boys and girls left in the White House press corps shriek at the president whenever in earshot, it just doesn’t matter anymore.
The economy hums. Trump keeps us out of foreign entanglements. Wages increase. America’s traditional meritocracy replaces the Democrats’ grievance-based society. Life happens.

Is the Anonymous NYT Op-Ed Writer Hiding in Plain Sight?
I love this piece! I have no idea who the author is but the presentation is one that would curdle the toes of a mystery novel enthusiast. Read and make some guesses of your own.
With the extreme pressure exerted by President Trump to find the traitorous writer, senior White House officials have promptly come forward to place their names on the “Not Me” list.
At present, those on the list include: Mike Pence, Mike Pompeo, Dan Coats, Kirstjen Nielson, James Mattis, Steven Mnuchin, Rick Perry, Nikki Haley, Ben Carson, Alex Azar, Alexander Acosta and Betsy Devos.
Noticeably missing from the “Not Me” group is Jeff Sessions.
Wow!
But Sessions is too obvious a choice as the Op-Ed writer, right? He’s there, out front, and always in Trump’s face, right? He wouldn’t be stupid enough, then, to be the writer, would he?

Anyone Remember How Obama Handled White House Leaks?
Of course the leftist media has conveniently forgotten this. So, here’s a reminder:
U.S. President Barack Obama came into office pledging open government, but he has fallen short of his promise. Journalists and transparency advocates say the White House curbs routine disclosure of information and deploys its own media to evade scrutiny by the press,” the report said. “Aggressive prosecution of leakers of classified information and broad electronic surveillance programs deter government sources from speaking to journalists.”
This is the most closed, control freak administration I’ve ever covered,” said David E. Sanger, longtime chief Washington correspondent for The New York Times.
The administration called its efforts against leaks the “Insider Threat Program” and implemented plenty of invasive methods to stop it.
The Insider Threat Program being implemented throughout the Obama administration to stop leaks — first detailed by the McClatchy newspapers’ Washington bureau in late June — has already ‘created internal surveillance, heightened a degree of paranoia in government and made people conscious of contacts with the public, advocates, and the press,’ said a prominent transparency advocate, Steven Aftergood, director of the Government Secrecy Project at the Federation of American Scientists in Washington,” the report said.
This included lie detector tests.
The director of national intelligence, James Clapper, announced on June 25, 2012, his own internal steps to stem leaks,” the report said.
Employees of all 16 U.S. intelligence agencies — including the CIA, NSA, FBI and Defense Intelligence Agency — would be asked during routine polygraph examinations whether they had disclosed any classified information to anyone. And the new inspector general for the Intelligence Community, with jurisdiction over all its agencies, would investigate leak cases that had not produced prosecutions by the Justice Department to determine what alternative action should be taken.”
A contemporaneous article from USA Today said the report “portrays an administration gripped by strict policies about information flow and paranoid about leaks across all executive branch departments.”

[Senator] Susan Collins Received 3,000 Coat Hangers as the Senate Prepares for Kavanaugh's Confirmation Vote
Watching her makes one wonder. Her head shakes and she stutters/mumbles like she’s having a hard time speaking. Isn’t it just about time she give it up and go silently into retirement?
People have been sending coat hangers to Collins’ office since July, when Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy announced his retirement. President Donald Trump has said if he is able to put a second or third justice on the court — he nominated Neil Gorsuch to the court earlier this year — Roe v. Wade being overturned would “happen automatically.”

Small-Town and Rural America See Growth
Just where the elitists don’t want.
As midterm elections near, smaller, redder places show more economic growth
This article comes with all sorts of charts and graphics. But, the bottom line is that the part of America between the Left and East Coasts are growing and becoming more inviting. Thanks to the president’s economic policies.
These patterns are notable for what they say about the contours of national economic activity but also because they reflect what’s happening on the ground, in particular urban and rural areas. And in this regard, the dynamics of the current economic surge—strong goods production and relatively weaker services provision—slightly disfavor larger, bluer, tech- and service-oriented metros, and relatively favor smaller, more rural, and redder communities by comparison to their recent problems. This conclusion aligns with the findings of smart analysts like Jed Kolko of Indeed. And it suggests that growth patterns are now playing out fairly positively for many if not all smaller communities and rural areas.

Chemnitz [Germany] braces for new protests:
2 Afghans arrested over man’s death in east German brawl
Emotions have become heated as more and more Europeans are standing up in opposition to Muslim emigres trying to tale over the countries. They do these horrible things and claim their religion permits it.
Those opposing Angela Merkel’s open-borders policy have been using the murders as further evidence that crime and insecurity have soared since the chancellor let in millions of asylum seekers three years ago.
Pro Chemnitz, a group which has organized protests against Germany’s immigration policy in the city since the August killing, said that last night’s death was evidence that “Germans are slaughtered everywhere,” asserting that “we must not let this happen again.”
Let’s see how Sweden’s vote today turns out.

Swedish Center-Right Gains Seat in Parliament
Riding a wave of anti-immigrant sentiments, the Alliance party and associates, have tied the current leftist parties for seats.
Sweden, election results (5596/6004 election districts counted):
Seats based on counted votes
Red-green #Rödgröna bloc (S-S&D, MP-G/EFA, V-LEFT): 143 (-16)
Centre-right #Alliansen bloc (M-EPP, C-ALDE, L-ALDE, KD-EPP): 143 (+2)
SD-ECR: 63 (+14) #valet2018 #val2018 #Sweden
Swedish Moderates’ leader, Ulf Kristersson, whose opposition center-right bloc virtually tied with the ruling center-left coalition has urged PM Stefan Lofven and his government to resign.
"This government has run its course… Now it should resign,” Kristersson told a party rally, after preliminary election results showed his opposition coalition in a tie with its centre-left rivals.
Kristersson, who is the center-right Alliance’s candidate for prime minister, said that the election results have shown their rivals are “unlikely” to find enough support in parliament, and that he will hold discussion with partners on how to form a new Swedish government.
So, what does this mean? Probably that current sentiments across Europe will be carried out by deporting immigrants back to the countries they came from.

Inmates Brutally Beat Stepfather Responsible for Gruesome Death of Baby
Australian scumbag beats and tortures his 22-month-old stepson. He gets 9 years in jail but it doesn’t take long for his fellow inmates to mete out their own justice.
William Andrew O’Sullivan was beaten to the point of hospitalization by two other inmates in a Queensland prison, the court was told during his sentencing hearing. His vigilante assaulters were alleged to have fractured his skull with kicks to the head during the inmate-applied beatdown.
The beating at the hands and feet of fellow inmates reportedly occurred while O’Sullivan was awaiting the final outcome of his trial for the death of his young stepson.
O’Sullivan reportedly was hospitalized for 13 days following that incident to allow for his significant head injuries to heal.
I have one question that nobody ever raises in cases like this – where the hell was the baby’s mother?

Russians Want to Create Paleo Park
They’re going to start by cloning the Lenskaya horse they found in an excellent mummified condition and will then move on to bigger stuff.
Interestingly, Russia is planning a major new £4.5 million cloning facility, a “Paleo Park,” that aims to bring back to life the extinct woolly mammoth and rhinoceros as well as other long-gone species.
The cloning laboratories – some sunk deep in the permafrost soil – aim to extend research by Russian scientists who are already working closely with South Korean specialists hoping to restore extinct species.
Yakutsk is capital of diamond-rich Sakha Republic, also known as Yakutia, where 80 percent of finds of samples of Pleistocene and Holocene animals with preserved soft tissues have been made.
It may not be so difficult as it sounds. Inject the DNA or whatever into eggs of a current species to give birth to an animal with the ancient genes.
Seems some super-rich San Francisco dude is donating parts of his well-preserved saber-toothed tiger to a lab to have it cloned.

Taliban Control of Afghanistan Districts
C’mon, Mister President, I support you in everything else you are doing for this country. Why the hell don’t you just get us the hell out of there?
I know this a New York Times piece, but it jives with everything else I’ve been reading on the internet.
Today, The New York Times published an article titled “How the U.S. Government Misleads the Public on Afghanistan.” FDD’s Long War Journal data on Taliban controlled and contested districts is compared to US military data. The side-by side comparison is striking. LWJ has long argued that the US military has provided a Pollyannish, best-case scenario of Taliban controlled & contested districts that downplays the Taliban’s territorial influence.
The NYT article also points out several areas where the US government is exaggerating and misleading the public on Afghanistan. For instance, the the report looks at Afghan and Taliban force strengths, and how they are perceived by the US military and the Afghan government. The article finishes with a side-by-side comparison of US military statements vs NYT reporting about the Taliban’s incursion into Ghazni that is wildly unflattering. LWJ noted from the beginning of the Ghazni attack up until the end that the US military was issuing statements that did not comport to the reality on the ground.

SpaceX Launches and Recovers Again
Not only launches but the first stage returns and lands on a ship designed for it!
A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket successfully launched a communications satellite into orbit Monday before completing a drone ship landing in the Atlantic Ocean.
Following a 77-minute weather delay, the Falcon 9 Rocket took off from Florida’s Cape Canaveral Air Force Station at 12:45 a.m. EDT, and then sent the satellite into orbit 32 minutes later.
About 8 minutes after the separation, the first stage of the Falcon 9 landed on a drone ship called “Of Course I Still Love You.”
