News and Lots of Political Stuff for October 11, 2018

Ocasio-Cortez’ Congressional District
How the hell do they come up with this convoluted crap? They design them to insure a win by candidates they own. Unfortunately for them, Ocasio-Cortez isn’t in their predetermined package.
And her GOP opponent can’t even put up a campaign against her. All his campaign money’s been tied up in a nasty divorce.
So, is she going to win?
Only 14% of registered DimocRATs in the district voted for her in the primaries.
The Block Bronx Bolshevik page seeks to make the case against Ocasio-Cortez to those Democrats who sat out the primary by highlighting her shockingly uninformed and immature views and to encourage Republicans to vote for Crowley because Pappas is a zombie candidate.  To achieve these objectives, a Block Bronx Bolshevik GoFundMe campaign was launched to raise $3,000 for Facebook ads that will promote the page to increase reach and engagement.  Closer to Election Day, posts about how to vote for Crowley on the third party line will be promoted.
CD14 doesn't wish for the infamy of being the vanguard of socialism in New York City, and we invite friends, neighbors, and allies to join our rebellion against socialism.

NBC News Suggests Low-Population States Get Less Senate Representation
This is something Ocasio-Cortez would suggest. She totally fails to understand the very foundation of our republic. And it appears this nitwit NBC journalist doesn’t either.
Ken Dilanian, an intelligence and national security reporter for the NBC News investigative unit, moved from the role of objective reporter to biased advocate when he suggested that states with smaller population sizes should not get equal representation in the U.S. Senate. This change would require an amendment to the Constitution, which currently gives an equal number of senators to each of the 50 states.
It may not happen in our lifetimes, but the idea that North Dakota and New York get the same representation in the Senate has to change,” tweeted Dilanian, who also previously reported for the AP, the LA Times, USA Today and the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Where the hell do these people get such stupid ideas?

Algore Loses It – Endorses a Fictional Bird for Office
Former Vice President Al Gore has always been a bit of an odd duck. His awkwardness and inability to connect with, well, normal people is one of the reasons he lost the 2000 presidential election — and that loss seemed to push him even further off kilter.
And here’s his endorsement:
I just wanted to take a minute to help spread the word about a certain young candidate running for Congress,” Gore declared with almost no hint of emotion. “She’s smart, tenacious, and she’s running to create a healthier world for us all. …
She’s passionate about this planet, and any candidate with that priority has my complete support. That’s why today I’m proud to officially endorse Earth for Congress.”
We should probably reiterate that Earth is the name of a fictional penguin. The bird has a bizarre website, intended to look like a real campaign page, where the penguin gives a political speech and pushes a far-left environmental agenda.

The Social Decay Voraciously Eating Away At The Fabric Of Our Country
What the hell is happening to us? These are only 7 of many, many instances of the tear in the moral fabric of America.
What on earth can we do about it?
#1 Long Island – Gang activity is spreading like wildfire all over America.  On Long Island, some homeowners in the Hamptons are actually installing “panic rooms” in their homes as MS-13 continues to move east on Long Island
#2 South Fulton County, Georgia – Law enforcement authorities recently discovered “more than 10 decapitated goats” in and around the Chattahoochee River.  Needless to say, this completely shocked the residents of South Fulton County
#3 Baltimore, Maryland – The opioid crisis in America has never been worse than it is right now.  As a result, many babies are addicted to the drugs the moment that they are born.  In the city of Baltimore, approximately one out of every four babies is born as an opioid addict…
#4 Birmingham, Alabama – Nowhere is social decay more evident than among our young people.  Not too long ago, a wild brawl in Birmingham involving approximately 30 teens made national headlines
#5 Auburn, Washington – Do you remember what I said earlier about many Americans lacking basic empathy and compassion?  Well, an incident that just happenedn Auburn, Washington is a perfect example of that.  It all started when a convenience store clerk confronted a pair of potential thieves
#6 Portland, Oregon – Just recently, Antifa took over the streets of downtown Portland and actually started directing traffic.  Portland police monitored them the entire time, but they refused to intervene.  When one extremely frightened elderly man refused to follow Antifa’s directions, they attacked his vehicle, causing $3,000 in damage
#7 San Francisco, California – One of the wealthiest cities in America has also become a cesspool of crime, drugs and human feces.  An Inside Edition news crew went down to one of the worst parts of San Francisco to report on the crime wave, but while they did that their own vehicle was broken into and “thousands of dollars worth of equipment” was stolen

Americans Are More Radicalized Than Ever
I’m not going to paste a bunch of stuff from this article as I think the title says it all.
There is no more middle ground in Washington and many other places across the country.
And, as Limbaugh said recently, if the Dims lose in November, things will only get worse.
Politicians getting death threats.
Gruesome threats to the families of politicians – once taboo here.
Local authorities losing control of their streets and neighborhoods to paid demonstrators.
Communities declaring their disobedience to the law.
Is the country literally “spiraling toward civil war?”

Most Of America Is NOT Participating In The Hysterical Rage You See On The News
Seems the rage takes place on the Left Coast, major eastern cities, and Washington, D.C. The rest of the country simply goes about every day business.
Here’s the America I’ve seen.
A couple of days ago, my neighbors were grilling and we chit-chatted over the fence. They shared some delicious southern barbecue with us, and I passed on some of the last, delicious late tomatoes to them. They had a Hillary Clinton sign in their yard when we moved in, but they still caught our dog Bella and brought her home when she escaped over the fence for a little walkabout.
We helped the neighbors on the other side of our house when the husband had a heart attack last year. We couldn’t do much, but we went over while they were waiting for the ambulance and took care of their pets during the hospital stay. Later, the wife brought us a cake. I have no idea for whom they voted and I don’t care. It was a delicious cake.
My landlady has bumper stickers all over her car with which I disagree. Some of them make me cringe internally, but I don’t feel obligated to point out her errors in critical thinking. I gave her a nice plant to thank her for letting us move in and she gave us a couple of pumpkins for the front porch. She brings dog biscuits for our pets every time she swings by to do a repair or collect the rent.
When I was in California, I was a part of the warmest network of homesteaders you can imagine. When there were wildfires, they opened up their fields and barns to others fleeing the flames with their livestock. We got together monthly to learn new skills and all “paid” the teacher with a homemade or homegrown goodie. When one homesteader broke her leg, we all took turns looking after her livestock until she recovered.
This is the America that I see. Neighbors being kind to neighbors. Communities that care about one another. People who don’t want to participate in the hysterical rage that we’re seeing all over the media.

US mid-terms: Will young people bother to vote?
The media claims they are more engaged in the upcoming election. But, does that mean they’ll actually go ahead and vote? They get pushed to register but does that mean they know who’s running or what for?
This election has been billed as one in which young people form a powerful voting bloc, propelled by the momentum generated by school shootings earlier in the year, and mobilised by celebrities like Taylor Swift and Rihanna. But will they turn up on the day?
1. Millennials are more politically engaged
2. But they usually don't bother to actually vote
3. Politics has been, well, depressing
[If it isn’t fun and uplifting, will that get them on the move?]
4. Activism after Parkland
[But, that was some time ago]
5. The celebrity effect

Republicans Are Madder and More Likely to Vote Than Dems
The Dims are doing everything they can to debunk this. They want you to know that their people are far more likely to turn out the vote.
I don’t think so.
Sixty-two percent of Republicans are more likely to vote because of the Kavanaugh controversy, compared to 54 percent of Democrats and 46 percent of voters not affiliated with either major political party,” Rasmussen Reports said in making its results public Wednesday.
This even claims that the Dims lead “the generic ballot,” whatever that means.

Pollster Rasmussen to Newsmax: Republicans Will Gain One Seat in Senate
IMHO, this actually means the GOP will gain 3 or more! Everyone on the left touts these polls – and so does the president when they go his way – but none of them ever seem to pan out the way they predict.
We asked Rasmussen about recent reports that the efforts of pop star Taylor Swift had helped register more than 100,000 new young voters and what effect it would have on the elections.
Going back to the 18-year-olds getting the vote in the early 1970’s, I have always heard that there will be a big wave of young voters coming to the polls,” said Rasmussen, “It hasn’t happened so far.”
And here’s another poll:

The Most Open President Ever
The press corps constantly complains how the president never has official press conferences with them.
Male bovine excrement!
Every time he walks to Marine-1 he stops to take questions from the “journalists” screaming at him. After every major event, he takes questions. He constantly takes questions from FoxNews hosts. He spent 43 minutes this morning on the phone with Fox & Friends.
What other president has been so open?
And, following is another example of his openness:

My Private Oval Office Press Conference With Trump, Pence, Pompeo, and Kelly
I have no idea who this Olivia Nuzzi is but she appears to be part of the White House press corps.
This is a very long piece but relates her being called into the Oval Office to meet with the president, VP Pence, John Kelly, Mike Pompeo and others. She got some straight answers that appear to abuse the media story about discord.

Two Dozen Races Will Determine Control of House
Why these midterms are so very important. The Dims are spending heavily in spite of the fact that their fund-raising isn’t going so great.
The Congressional Leadership Fund, a super PAC closely linked to retiring House Speaker Paul Ryan, has already spent $90 million on key House races, but warned its donors in a memo dated Tuesday and seen by Reuters that more cash is needed to avert a Democratic takeover of the House.
There are 20 races within 4 points that will determine the House majority, and CLF will keep working to win them,” Bliss wrote in the memo.

China’s Cracking Down on Islam
We’ve had reports of this for some time. A people living in the western part of China are known as Uighurs who are also ethnic Muslims. Word keeps coming out of the area that more than one million of them have been put into “re-education camps.”
Now, we learn that the government of Xinjiang, the region where they live, has just enacted legislation that says behaviour that could lead to detention include expanding the concept of halal - which means permissible in Islam - to areas of life outside diet, refusing to watch state TV and listen to state radio and preventing children from receiving state education.
China is also launching a wider campaign against Islamic practices across Xinjiang. It wants to stop the use of halal products that are not food.
One newspaper said the use of the term halal to describe items such as toothpaste blurred the line between religious and secular life and made people prey to religious extremism.
China bans beards and veils in Xinjiang
Profile: What is Xinjiang like?
On Monday Communist Party leaders in the regional capital Urumqi led cadres in swearing an oath to fight the "pan-halal trend", AFP reported.
New regulations also make it clear that Muslim women are banned from wearing veils.
Communist party members and bureaucrats have been told to speak Mandarin Chinese in public and not local languages.
There is much more to this of course but the tyrannical Chinese government simply will never permit anything to weaken its control over the largest country in the world. Outside Muslim groups can complain all they want but it will do them little good.

The 10 Worst Car Names of All Times
I could think of a few other than these. You?
10. Dodge Swinger
9. Ford Probe
8. Chevy Citation
7. Studebaker Dictator
6. Chevy Eurosport
5. Audi 5000
4. Oldsmobile Intrigue
3. Pontiac Parisienne
2. GM Impact
1. Ford Aspire
I am certain companies have entire divisions dedicated to nothing but coming up with names for their cars, And I’m certain there are a set of rules to determine the basic theme.
